The Savage A17 has a 9 round plastic rotary magazine. They also recently redesigned them making them much better for locking them in.0 -
I have fired this gun and another in .17 mach II...
The gun confuses me a bit - I would prefer a nice wood stock to go with the blued metal finish - and I understand that the composite holds up better under heavy use in field conditions but you would also then expect a flat stainless all weather metal finish...
And I am sorry but I hate the trigger - just don't prefer them and don't see the need or use for an experienced shooter...
I have always seen them with glass mounted on top as folks seem to shoot them readily out to 150 yds if the wind is right...
I also believe the early models had issued with feeding and cycling and fouling and magazine malfunctions - supposedly corrected now...
They have been reviewed in American rifleman and in guns and ammo but since neither ever give a bad or negative review even on a total POS like the early polymer Remington model 51 you cannot trust their write ups - it's why mike venrurino quit and moved on to other publications.
