Went to my hunting club yesterday to do some maintenance, mowing, clearing wasps out of deer stands, and a little socializing. We have a new neighbor South of the lease who for some reason doesn't want to be neighborly. The have trespassed last winter and this year, turned over or damaged about 8 stands (one of mine), driven 4wd's through food plots, torn down posted signs and made themselves all around pests. We have had the sheriff's Deputies down two times, only to be told we have no real evidence. That is about to change! One of our members moved to within 1/2 mile of the lease and has 2 cellular game cameras that send pics to his phone. We found where the perps were crossing the boundary, and now have both cameras mounted 16' above the ground watching their trail. With photo evidence, we will be able to criminally charge them with trespass, and maybe felony destruction of property. We told the Deputy that we were not going to settle for anything less if we caught them. Lord help them if we actually catch them there! We can legally seize their vehicle and make them WALK home.
BTW- these aren't kids messing around, they even felled a big tree across one of our shooting lanes close to the boundary. :evil:

    I think yall have the solution -- Cameras.

    The two cameras you have now will most likely be vandalized so be prepared to spend some money on a more advanced surveillance system.
    But it will pay off in the end.

    Be prepared to mount an aggressive prosecution as well.

    An internet background check is in order at this point.

    I would place a cheap game cam in an obvious place, and then another disguised game cam viewing that cam to catch them vandalizing or stealing the game cam. Make sure you post your land really well along an access point and take photos of it.

    Good luck, hope you nail them to the wall. I believe Indiana has a law in place where signs aren't necessary. Just paint the top of every 4th fence post purple. It serves the same purpose as having actual No Trespassing signs.

    There is no reason to be on someone elses property, and being destructive on top of that, tears it.

    Make sure all the authorities are notified of every action you take. Your hunting clue show have your lawyers on notice. Post new signs up an down the property line. all the way around.

    I feel your pain.

    I have these 4 wheeler trash that trespass on my place trying to get to state land. They are some of the lowest chinless inbred trailer white trash I have ever dealt with.

    They knocked all my No trespassing signs down and even used an ax to chop the green paint off the trees. Not much help from the sheriff.

    They even had the gaul to complain when I was shooting on my own Range on my property.



    I fixed the problem but it was not easy................Be careful because they are armed.

    get em !!!! hard...i know what you feel as every year here we are swamped in deer, turkey, pheasant and quail season......no hunt/fish/trespass signs and purple painted posts mean nothing...they bought a hunting license and have a gun so they get to go anywhere they want......and the number of (hunting guides) that have sprung up in our little town ( formerly unemployable bozos) is irritating..........they are getting astronomical fees if the city dude whacks a big or atypical buck rack........PITA.....have one 80 acre grass just east of me & one saturday morn 4 pickup loads of 12 outfitted with shotguns went back and forth till several dozen pheasants were wiped out.....i USED to enjoy seeing all them birds cross the twp road to get soybeans every morn .....only one 1 left after that....have had roads driven across my wheat crops so they could get closer to hunt ...one bunch drove a 1/4 mile road across planted wheat and set live traps and a bait station out for deer....caught some critter in their live trap and left it to die there...i finally caught them in there one weekend and told em they were trespassing and to get the hell off...they told they had a RIGHT to hunt there ...well the game warden and deputy sheriff showed them they were full of chit.....i always carry now
