You KNOW stuff is bad when Seattle TV stations come to your town to show how lousy it is. KOMO has a 45-minute show on how bad Seattle has gotten, then they went and found someplace worse to let their viewers know they're not #1.
Seattle is another prime example of west-coast "I know what's best for you" overly do-gooder coddling. They took the lessons from the lumps in SF and LA.

This is horrible. This is what happens when you have a bunch of touchy feely liberals running a city.
California used to be a Republican state. Back then, if some wino pitched a tent on the sidewalk downtown, the cops would roust him up, meaning, give him a few whacks with the night stick. Tent goes to the dumpster. Arrested on vagrancy, the guy spent a week on the road crew, picking up trash on the side of the road. In 1966 there were no tent cities in LA.
Another problem is the elimination of State Mental Hospitals. Back in 1980 I lived in Milledgeville Georgia, which was the home of Central State Hospital. We called it the Lunatic Asylum. It had 19,000 inmates.
In the mid-eighties, Geraldo Rivera did a one hour expose on mental instiutions on tv. He got his film crew into the big state mental institution in New York. And he recorded staff beating up on inmates, cute, retarded 18 year old girl inmates getting raped by staff, or other inmates, etc. He revealed a lot of bad stuff.
So, the brilliant New York Yankees decided that severely retarded patients had rights too! It was immoral to keep them locked away!
So they turned most, if not all of them loose.
And so, Georgia and other states followed suit. About ten years ago, Central State Hospital closed down. The huge campus, dozens of huge red brick dormitories, recreation areas and gyms, and a medical hospital, all shut down. 19,000 people turned out onto the street.
A lot of these homeless people are severely mentally ill and have no business being on the street, they need to be in a state institution.0 -

With today?s society in general, people everywhere are less responsible and growing more ?gimme.? Everywhere... so, we?re going to have homeless and destitute people. Be it drugs, crazy, criminal, or just plain lazy.
Be thankful that they?re congregating in big liberal cities. THOSE cities are attracting these folks. If they weren?t, these folks would be populating other areas, maybe even your city!
I see a lot of ?round me up and force them away? but that?s not going to happen. Today?s society won?t allow it. That?s ?not who we are...?.
Each generation makes it ?easier? on the next. So we?re creating these people.
How to solve it? I?ve no idea. I just hope they all stay put until I take my dirt nap.0 -

The term "Homeless" relative to DEMOCRAT controlled states such as CA, WA, and OR is an oxymoron.
Fact is the DEMOCRAT controlled states/cities are doing EVERYTHING they can to attract and sustain homelessness. Elimination of vagrancy laws. Failure to enforce laws committed by such simple because they are homeless. The sheet numbers of "Freebees" in itself is staggering: Needles, food healthcare, even cash payments in some places only begin the long list.
Seattle WA is well known among the homeless as Free-attle because of a myriad of entitlements and other freebees offered.
IMHO the disease in LA is not the homeless, but DEMOCRATs and their ideology in total control, doing everything possible to attract and sustain,0
