Two Dollar bills
Nunn's thread about Bicentennial Quarters reminded me that in 76' when the new two dollar bills were released, on the first day of issue I went to the bank and bought ten of them, they are uncirculated and the serial numbers are sequential.
Think they will ever be worth more than two dollars each?

You can bet their value will never keep up with inflation.
Collectors don't want them.
Seems to be too many three dollar bills out there.

I stop at the bank from time to time and get $20 in two dollar bills.
I have fun spending them. About half of the clerks think they are bogus and have to check with someone before they wil accept them.
Also neat to leave for the waitress as a tip....they remember who you are next time.0 -
We have a local restaurant that gives 2$ bills back as change. It?s their stick... 0 -
I always ask if cashiers or tellers have any $2 bills or the $1 coins. Whenever we would go TDY to Central America we took those with us and usually got great deals from the locals as they knew the $2 bills were rarely, if ever, counterfeited and trusted the coins over anything else. 0 -

I remember getting paid in MPC's (looked colorful, alot like food stamps) not dollars when I was in Vietnam......they were changed/swapped out every so often and the locals would get pissed since theirs weren't good anymore, wish I has a fist full now for collectors 0 -
I have a few $2 bills.
I have taken $2 bills to a gun show, and displayed them for sale in glass case, very classy. I never had any trouble selling all I had, usually 10 or so, for $3 each.0 -

If you got them from a bank, they are circulated.
Sold loads of them at flea markets for $2.50 each.
As a joke, I would put a new looking $20 bill in a small glass picture frame and then put a $19.95 price sticker on it. Everybody looked at it, but almost never did a person buy it. :shock: :shock:0 -
I get $2 bills 50 at a time for tips at Starbucks and similar places where a buck or two is a reasonable tip. Fun to circulate them. 0 -

They have been circulated in the sense that the bank handed them to me, prior to the point that they actually touched my hand, they were uncirculated. ......................................... sigh ..............0 -

That's right in Canada the 1$ bill is now a coin...

Can you see them on stage between sets with an orange home depot bucket scooping up Canadian loonie coins - savages I tell you...
And I have seen the guys who origami tight fold ones and Chuck them - fire them at the on stage talent - like getting hit with a daisy red Ryder BB gun - especially head shots...

Around here the salvage yards hand out the 2 dollar bills an dollar coin for payment alot. Now the red seal on the older 2 dollar bills will get you about 10 to 12 dollar return if in nice shape. 0 -
How long has it been since anybody saw a silver certificate in circulation - or some of the other variations???
