I hate Alexia and Suri.
I don't have a smart Phone by choice, but when I am around someone with one and the pull it out and ask "Suri where is XXXX" I feel like puking.
I would not have any of that garbage in my house.0 -

agree with you sam, my son has his whole house wired with alexa, lights, music, can do whole house, or just certain room, I ask him if you are in that room how hard is it to flip lightswitch???? just get that look, same one his mom has, duhhhhhhh0 -

Obviously, those who are so 'wired in' have no idea all of it is easily tracked by government and/or hackers.

Don?t get me wrong. I?d love to have an automated house. Our furnace sends an email when it loses heat. That?s great! I have a motion detector that send a picture when there?s movement under the porch.
What I don?t want is big brother (tech company or government) having that information.
If I trusted the government or big tech, I?d have no problem with being able to shout ?Alexa, get me pictures of Eva Mendez in a bikini.?0 -

I believe this instant gratification and instant knowledge we have now is harming people.
1. They need instant gratification and if they don't get it they get mad
2. No one has to do any real research anymore and when they do they take what wikipedia says as gospel which it is not.
3. People who use the GPS/Phone to navigate from one place to the next never know where places are all they are doing is following a bird dog.
4. People don't say Thank you anymore because they are used to asking their digital/robotic slave for answers.
Again when my FIL or someone else starts up with the frikin surie I walk away. They know how I feel about it but they just chalk it up to PTSD or some other ailment I supposedly have from a life of hunting down and killing my fellow man :shock:
BTW I have a Garmin.....................BUT the sound is turned off. Last time my FIL drove with me and I was using the Garmin to help get where I was going, he asked me why the sound was off....................I told him "I don't need a woman giving me directions" :shock:0 -
