Dammit - (CBD as a Sleep Aid?)

I tried CBD for my back issues, (spondyl??? whatever), and it seemed my pain was beyond what CBD could do. I have no doubt it could help others though. I do use melatonin. I told my Dr. that I was. He is/was a cardiologist BTW. He said OK and anything beyond 5 mg wouldn't help or matter. It helps me get to sleep but doesn't cause me to sleep any longer that I did before. If I fall asleep at midnight, sometimes I'm up at 3;30 am sometimes 5;30, if I'm really lucky 7am.

I heard you Brother. Melatonin was recommended by my Cardiologist. It helps me go to sleep, but it does not help me to sleep through the night. I sleep in roughly 1 1/2 hour, to 2 hour blocks, then it takes me an hour or two in order to go back to sleep. It is debilitating.

I am looking forward to the sleep study. I belive a CPAP will help me with my issues.

My nose has been broken multiple times. (If it passes 20% of what it is supposed to, I would be surprised.) Total mouth breather at night. Feel claustrophobic all the time. My Mitral valve problem exacerbates this issue. Cardiologist asked me the other day, "How would you feel about letting me go back in, and tune you up/work on your valve?"

    Uhmn..............................................................No.

Not unless that is a last resort/option. I'm going to need to be much worse off, than I am currently, in order to agree to that.

I have done sleep and pain studies...

Back pain was primary focus. They tried tramadol which was ineffective.

Believe it or not they tried Zoloft for sleep - it's a psych med but is very effective in regulating sleep.

It's embarrassing to be on a crazy town mad but it works.

I have tried melatonin . It did help me fall asleep faster but, I still woke up at 3 am, wide awake.
That and it messed with my gut. Couldn't stray far from the bathroom next day til about 10 am.
Would like to try the .CBD.

I do recommend it. It takes 2-3 days of continuous use in order for you (or at least me) to reap the full benefits. I did sleep much better with it's use.

Not cheap. I pay $10 for 7 gummies, or $8 for 5 pills. (That is why, this small bottle @ $7 seemed like a deal.) Too bad it was for Vaping.

Pharmacy offers a bottle apprx. twice the size of the one I purchased for $49. :o (Oral though, not Vaping.)

Wish they had gummies. My preference.

Hey Bravo, have you tried a single Benadryl . After my hip replacement, in the hospital,I was having that claustro-breathing clamp thing. It would scare me awake. The nurse's orders called for Benadryl. That little pink pill worked too. I'll only use it occasionally now but it still works. I have issues with breathing anyway. Right now next to my bed is an Albuteral puffer and a thing of Flo-nase.

    Benadryl is Dyphenydramine, right?

I've done that. Anywhere between 25-50 mg. Helps but not the end all, be all.

Have been trying to get a prestriction/script for Ambien. You'd think, I am asking for Cocaine. You can see "the face," when I ask for it. No joy in that regards through various physicians.

NOW they can install a new mitral thru an artery just like doing a coronary catheritization check (had 3)....rolled up tite and get it up there, unroll it and it pushes the floppy valve aside and like the bare rims for your car hooks into place..NO cut u open ....made it to this age with it slushing along so may just finish out in 1st gear

I?ll have more confidence in the CPAP system when I hear about one person taking the test and doesn?t need the CPAP.

One of my doctors recommended the sleep test for me. I asked him if he ever sent anybody for the test that didn?t need the CPAP. He just looked at me and smiled. He didn?t answer the question.

Interested in how the CPAP turns out as I have heard good things from people that can tolerate them...

And Hank Jr was correct. Hangovers hurt more than they used to...

I have been using CBD products for the last multiple weeks/up to a couple months, for help in sleeping. (No THC.) It does help. (Coupled with 10 mg. of Melatonin.)

I first started using CBD pills, then gravitated to CBD gummies.

Tonight on the way home, I spotted a small bottle @ $6.99. (They were out of my regulars.) Thought it was oral.

Got home, put on the specs. It is for Vaping. I do not Vap. Sigh. Hoping they will take it back (unopened) for a trade tomorrow.

Any one else here use CBD (no THC) in order to aid in sleeping? (If not, I recommend it.)

I have a sleep study waiting to get scheduled, through my Cardiologist. I believe a CPAP, based on what I have been reading here, will improve my situation immensely.

My friend has RA - rhumatoid arthritis and has tired a number of CBD products as told use of them would provide relief. Spend some big bucks for pills, gummy bears, liquid and pills.

Bunch of hooey and wasted money. A sugar pill would have done just as much for far less $$.

    Finally, someone speaks the truth.

    I have accepted:
Pain is my body reassuring me that I am still alive.
More pain than I can bear is my body telling me its time to go.

If I sound bitter it is only because I am.
I gave up GQB's and medications. When exhaustion overrides the pain, sleep comes.

My pain management doctor was offering it for a while. My report after using it for months was that I don't think it helped the pain at all, but seemed like it might have been helping my sleep some but wasn't sure. I ran out 3 weeks ago, and this last 10 days I have slept horrible. Maybe a coincidence, maybe not. I'll go a little longer then try it again and see. I also do take melatonin and on nights where I can tell it will be hours before I sleep, or if I have to have an alert day the next day, I'll take either Lunesta, Ambien, or Doxepin.

I think the symptoms for it is fairly obvious. Even if a person simply snores without the actual apnia (stop breathing events), can benefit.

After having life-long issues of insomnia, I started having narcolepsy instead. I'd fall asleep driving, walking, even right in the middle of a sentence. I had never heard of CPAP or OSA. Back in ~2000 I was supposed to have an overnight sleep study. I lay down and seems like I hadn't even fell asleep yet and they woke me up and told me I can go home if I'd like. I asked if there was something wrong. They said there was no reason to continue the test. Apparently I had 152 events already in less than an hour. 30 per hour is considered excessive. I fought the mask for a week or 10 days getting a little better sleep every time. Ultimately, I had to get a full face mask. Now, not only does it feel weird not to have it, but I'll consciously be awaken by my snores and events. After I finally got caught up on my sleep, my insomnia returned. But, at least now I am just tired all the time, not falling asleep in dangerous situations like before the CPAP.

No worries. If you do not want to try it, or if you choose to ridicule it. Have at it. No skin off my nose.

I am talking about Sleep issues here guys, not pain management issues. Big difference.

I have tried a lot of options. This seems to help. I get better sleep with it.

Stopped off at the same store, with my bottle of vaping liquid on the way home. They had no problem exchanging it for some gummies. All good. Better nights sleep ahead. :)

I've read that not all CBD is created equal, but I was lucky with the first brand. I have the 1000mg bottle of CBD tincture from aromatic infusions in Youngsville La. Nothing helps with shoulder joint issues like this stuff. Theirs tests in the top 3% of CBD and have the lab results to back it up.

I cannot use anything related to MJ, nor would I. Melatonin gives me a severe hangover, cannot take it any more. But I would love to find something that would help with my back pain, it can be unbearable some days. Thanks to the ACA I can no longer afford health insurance so the things wrong with me I have to use over the counter remedies just like all the supplements I?m taking to try and get this blood pressure under control which I have no clue if it is helping. Because of having a CDL most pain remedies are a no-go for me and I cannot afford a doctor to help either. Y?all wonder why I?m so mean sometimes, stress and pain along with hopelessness added in.

My miracle drug for pain is Ibuprofen taken in 800 mg caplets. I get giant bottles of these from the VA when I need them. They do not help me sleep but have been a lifesaver for all of my back and leg pains along with occasional headaches.

I used to have a good friend who also was my doctor. This was over 20 years ago. All I ever had to do was call him if I was in need of any pain meds. Back then all of the codeine mixes were the rage. They worked OK for me but I never liked the "drugged" feeling or the constipation side effects. Those down-sides kept me from ever taking them unless I was in more pain than I could handle.

I have been studying CBD products ever since my late brother tried them during his epic fight for life. I found that there are way too many get rich quick markets doing business selling products that are about as alike as apples and bull snot.

Sure, the good stuff that works may be out there somewhere, but the consistency from batch to batch makes most just snake oil.
