Need Some Suggestions
My hunting club is going to raffle a bolt action rifle this year. We did an AR10 last year, and were successful selling 100 tickets at $50 each. Trying to keep the cost no more than $800.00. I have been looking at maybe offering the winner a choice of any standard caliber (no magnum) in whichever brand we choose.
Any ideas?

Tikka T3 - I've never seen one that couldn't shoot better than what its cost indicates. I'd stay away from the cheaper Savages, Remingtons, etc.. as they are to common and to me ain't nothing special. Bob 0 -

I'm not much of bolt action fan. Lots of $ for out dated technology. I prefer to have iron sights on a bolt action and these tactical-ish bolt actions would get my attention:
Savage 110 Scout

Savage Hog Hunter

Edited to add:
Was at the Springfield Gun Show 2 weekends ago and got pulled in (literally) by a VFW group selling raffle tickets for a Rock Island Armory 45. Tickets were $5 each. I gave them a $10 asked for change and then said - "Let's just make this a donation." Old timer that had me locked in handshake smiled and said - "We can do that!"
I figure - I aint got shot at winning that raffle and a $5 donation aint going to break the bank.0 -
We decided to go with a TIKKA T3 in the winners choice of standard caliber. My LGS is going to hold the $$$ until the drawing, and will xfer for free and throw in some ammo. 0 -
You've got your decision it sounds like, but clubs around here also give away a lot of shotguns for raffles and such. Back when I was more frequent, they were usually Benelli's. 0
