    growing up in west virginia in the 50s and 60s i didnt know anything about slaw dogs or chilly dogs. when you ordered a hot dog then it came with mustard, onion, chili, and cole slaw unless you wanted it otherwise. i could get two and an RC cola for .45 cents and have a nickle left over to play the pin ball machine with my lunch money, sorta miss those times.

    Hebrew Nationals are good, but with only seven weenies to a package you end up with a left over bun. The old Oscar Meyer beef franks are what I grew up eating and to me they still taste like a hot dog should. Farmer John brand, which was very popular in SoCal (Dodger Dogs) are also good. I like hot dogs and eat them often.

    someone remembers RC cola.....back in those days i had to go to rehab to get weaned off of that ..it never got the rite shelf at the grocery store with coke and pepsi regularly trading the best level selling shelves for their sales....and peanuts ..chug about 1/3 and dump em in

    It is not like anyone is allowed to diverge from the party line without his character being attacked, but at the risk of that, Bar-S the best franks, and come in 3 pound (single serving) packages. :D

    Never was Mark, I thought it unfair to compete against amateurs. But the diet worked, I now wear Wrangles with a 32" waist, so I might have been kidding.

    "cheap" hot dogs are horrible. Tried the jew ones,,not that great, Oscar beef bun length still pretty good for a dog. :oops: :arrow:

    Vienna Hot Dogs for me. Vienna = the true Chicago Hot Dog. My uncle was a VP for Vienna while when I was younger.

    Sadly Vienna is not sold in Missouri or Arkansas. I'll eat Sam's Club - Nathan's as there is little other choice.

    Yes, I do and have one of their drink glasses in my cabinet STILL and that's been 40 years ago. Big red LUMS on the glass. :!:
