It's a jail, they likely don't have the manpower to have someone constantly watch one inmate. If it's like most jails they probably have one CO for every 20-25 inmates or more. Some jails don't even have COs in the Pod, they monitor it remotely. Suicide watch is likely a segregated area with a CO, but there are likely more than one inmate in that segregated area, and the CO has other duties like serving meals to other inmates. At our local jail suicide watch is 30 minute checks, inmate is in a sterile cell with a paper gown.0 -
