    I had a Dog that used to take care of our property very well. If he didn't know you, you would not cross that line we had a Mailman that could. He liked Dogs and had a bag that he made up from an old bank bag that was always full of biscuits. Then he retired.

    The next Mailman was a young Negro. When my Dog came out to get his Biscuit, he Pepper sprayed him! After a few words from me...all of my friends, neighbors, and even my Dad, he was gone in about a week. ;) From then on though, he hated mailmen.

    UPS driver had a box of doggie treats. Both dogs would come to the truck and sit. Driver would hand out treats and dogs would let him get out of truck.

    Next driver got his truck backed up a half block back down the street. I told him what the previous driver did to gain their trust. Never saw him again.

    I was told that USPS Mailmen are not allowed to give out biscuits anymore! The damned Girly Boys changed that too!

    Yeah right.

    Train a dog to come in close and get a treat. Then all of a sudden Pepper spray the dog, when he comes in close. (Obviously the dogs fault.) Guess he wasn't smart enough to know the difference. (And they know the range, [right?] in order to stay "just out of range.") :roll:

    Spray my dog on "Our Property?" You'd better hope I am not home. (And) I would be, because my dog is only out, when I am home. Put your damn package down, outside of trolley/leash range. It will be pretty evident. Come inside that, well - that is on you. Spray my dog? You'd better be headed to your truck.

    You see the dogs are at a movie theater watching a horror movie were behind the closed door lurks a rampaging mailman...

    They are yelling at the characters on screen to not open that door...

    I figure most of you failed to follow the metaphor or pick up on the visual cues.

    I remember for my first dog as a kid there were dog biscuits shaped like mailmen and police men and fire fighters...

    Came in a little box like animal crackers...

    Apropos of nothing...

    Did you even read what I wrote?

    In my Dogs mind, Mailman=Treat...Good Person. Then he got Bushwacked! How many dogs with wagging tails did you Gas when you were a Mailman?

    Neighbor had a guard dog that would come boiling to the neighbor's fences raising hell. Told the neighbors that animal scared my grandkids again we were going to have problems. He went into his house and came out with a jar of biscuits. After that when I went outside the dog would run over to the fence and sit waiting for me and a biscuit. Ended up be a very friendly guard dog.

    I pass out dog treats like Halloween candy.
    It also helps that I love dogs. They can tell, and they're always happy for a treat.
    Little dogs are generally less friendly than the big scary ones, IMO.

    The dog spray the USPS uses isn't GAS. Ask your mail carrier to spray some on a piece of paper for you and take a big whiff. Taste it. It isn't hot. It doesn't burn anything. What it does do is instantly dry the eyes nose and throat of what ever it hits. That's all. And it only lasts for 15-20 seconds. And I get the thing about the dogs sitting in the theater.
