    The Japanese Type 99 Arisaka is doing well bit I think if you had put in a better description and deciphered the kanji markings it could have realized $500-600 in today's market...

    Not trying to piss in your corn flakes and I consider you a friend and peer - just think you left some change on the counter on this one...

    I have 3 standard type 99 rifles and two different sniper variants of the 99 and I am an avid fan.

    Is the last say 90 days what item surprised you by bringing in bigger than expected numbers and what item was a disappointment???

    Always interested in your professional opinion and your take on market conditions...

    What's waiting in the wings - what's coming up next???

    Well it brought $565.00. I just can't believe you are picking on me like that. I'm old and fat and have almost no education cause I'm from the south and had to miss a lot of school to crop tobacco and slop hogs and farm stuff. Now I feel real bad. Even Ken treats me better than this.
    As to what's next?? I have a French Manufacture D' Armes Et Cycles model 28 or 850 Armee chambered for 9mm Browning Long. Pistol is fairly rare and in really nice condition. I have three more M1 Garand barreled receivers, an older Springfield M1A, and a few other odds and ends laying around.
    Gotta go and send emails to tonight's buyers. Nighty Night.

    I never thought a Type 99 would bring more than $40.

    I remember when they sold them out of 55gal drums in pawn shops.

    People used the barreled receivers for tomato stakes and the stocks were burnt in the wood stove. I ran across a guy hunting in MT who had one re-barreled to 25-06. I watched him bust a speed goat at 300 yds, I would have never believed it if I hadn't seen it. All I could think of why waste the time on a Jap 99/////////////

    Then I read PO Ackley. He was impressed with the rifles strength.

    You did good Ricci, I figure anyone who would pay for the gun knows what the squiggles mean or like me don't give a rip.

    I am not taking sides or anything, but without even looking at the listing, I will say that when I have a well formatted description in a listing, with any extra details (years and/or numbers produced, history, etc) along with lots of pictures always bring more than those that I put less effort into. I had a .22 pump that I listed one time and I took the time to look up the year, pictured all the proof marks, etc. I was expecting less than $200 for it and I'd have to look, but I know it went for over $500. I think it was a Savage if memory serves (which it doesn't do all that much). LOL

    I bought Sam06's Winchester .22mag pump, not too long back, and it went for a pretty penny. (Through Ricci.) I believe it was $550 +.

    Really like this gun. Nice little carbine. I'd go look up the model #, but I just came in from mowing the 2 1/2 acres, and I am sitting down with a nice frosty beverage. Started mowing when I got home from work at 3:30. (Well about 4:30 after a couple aforementioned frosty beverages.)

    Picked about 70-80 big Alberta Peaches, on the way in. Will take about 20-30 to my Mom tomorrow, on the way home.

    I have given away as many as my neighbors want to pick, and there are still several hundred easily, left on the trees. Will start taking bags in for fellow employees.

    Saw some nice bear scat about 20-30' away from the trees, while mowing. Lots of seeds on the ground.

    Incredible Peach year. Hundreds and hundreds, from three trees. They all look like weeping willows.

    Tastiest Peaches you have ever eaten as well. Delicious.

    I love and respect you guys...

    I do not drive or work now - and am always available to help research a gun or track down some history...

    I have done so in the past and would like to think it's been received as helpful - I hope that some will believe that a have a little bit of knowledge and experience in this area including an enormous reference library...

    I have been there and done that - I miss it. I would give my left nut to work for Ricci even part time - to be part of the shop atmosphere again and be able to contribute again...

    Sometimes it's painful reading some posts bit mostly bring smiles.

    I could be a strong asset to a gunshop with attached indoor range - it's in my blood and I am trained and good at it...

    If only.
