orlando gun show - private sales?

Thinking of driving the 2 hours to go to the Orlando show with a buddy tomorrow - he needs reloading components and gas+admission is less than hazmat shipping...

But... I don't really want to give up my sleep in day unless private sales are still allowed. Have an OK 20ga O/U I wouldn't mind selling/trading off, and I've been thinking of selling one of my FAL builds.

Also, should I buy a long gun from a dealer, are there any stupid "options" the county has taken? Up here near me Alachua County there is now a wait for all purchases...

So... anyone know the scoop?

    I have been to the Orlando Gun show in the last few months maybe it was March/April when I went.

    I definitely scored on reloading supplies- which was why I was there.

    I don't recall any ban or barring of private sales.
    Im sure at entry there was the standard check/clear all incoming guns so I would presume that meant private sales/trades were acceptable.

    IM me if you do decide to go. i wasn?t planning on it, as Im registered for a match in Volusia county- but if it is soupy & wet I may not bother with that drive. You can get through the whole show in an hour or so.

    Don't you just love it when they call "private sales" that gun show loophole as if it were illegal. :evil:

    If Herring gets elected, I suspect they will have the majority in atleast one of the houses...if they get the majority in both then it will be pedal to the metal on NY style gun control. It will literally be a stunning overnight reversal of liberty into tyranny.

    Fausti 26" barrels, single selective trigger, screw in chokes (2x each F, M, IC). Seen plenty with silver and "engraving" on receivers, this is the only plain blacked out one I've ever seen.

    Figure it is worth $400 with the extra chokes, etc.

    Unfortunately, no CC so I can't do an auction side account and list it for ya...

    Did some googling, apparently all sales at the shows must go through a licensee, no exceptions.

    No, it is apparently a county law passed last year. In general F2F transactions aren't banned, they are specifically banned at certain events, like gun shows at the fair grounds.

    Found an interesting thread on some history of it and the show promoter on ar15.com in the Florida section.

    It is the same in the 3 south counties as well.
    It is the only thing a county can do regarding firearms in Florida as no city or county can make there own gun laws

    I am in East Central Florida and do the Melbourne Gun Show. There are no restrictions regarding private sales at that show or the one in Vero Beach

    For years local politicians ignored that Florida law and made their own gun laws but a few years ago the state changed the penalty from none to a $5,000.00 fine per incident per person and it could not be paid by the government it had to come out of the person arresting or involved in prosecuting the alleged crime
    Basically if 2 cops arrested you, the chief accepted it, the clerks ran with it and the DA moved on it each and every person had to pony up $5K

    Before that they arrested you, you had to make bail, hire an attorney who would motion to dismiss and cite the law and it would go away at great expense
    Their logic was they might not get a conviction but the hassle and expense made you comply

    Fausti Field I, I have a Field II 20ga., and a DEA .410 sxs. They were imported originally by Traditions, but saying their customer service sucked, would be an understatement, and Fausti dropped them. The Weatherby O/U's are made by Fausti now. Quality, fit, and finish rivaled Browning at a fraction of the price...until Weatherby figured it out.
