Gun Laws in NY
Man this guy got screwed. This NBA playa had 3 pistols and what is described as submachine gun in his truck while he was out smoking weed in his truck. The cops pull him over, smell the weed, Probable cause to search the truck and find the guns.
The NBA playa get 3.5 years in the greybar hotel.

Well - first - NY gun laws suck. And by all measures he got screwed.

I saw some of the baggies were labeled 9mm, but those up by the S&W look bigger than 9mm. I couldn't really tell. I do know that 3rd Gen S&W semi-auto pistol is built like a tank. 0 -

You'd be looking at 5 years easy. Noticing some of those rounds appear to be the dreaded "Hollow Points." That is a multiplier right there. Doubly screwed.
Used to live there, could not wait to get out of there. Moved back down South, about 7 years ago. Right on the NY/NJ line. Greenwood Lake, West Milford, Warwick, if any know the area.0 -

S&W didn't make 10mm in double stack way back in the '90s. That would've killed Glock in the crib. Actually in the nut sack.

I doubt he has ever voted in his life. He probably supports dimOcrates because that is what he was taught to do by his mom.
He is an entitled basketball playa who thinks the law doesn't apply to him and frankly I am surprised it did.
The reason I posted this was to show how insane the gun laws are; over 3 years in jail for just having a gun in your car. That is insane.
How did NYC get these laws passed...............Do some digging they weren't voted on.

Um, I never said anything about double-stack. They did make fine guns in the 1990's. The 3rd gens are wide enough to be a staggered stack but alas they were not. They did make high capacity extended magazines of 11 and 15 rounds for the 10xx series at the time. Those things are rarer than hens teeth now. I have all 6 models they made including the elusive model with only 151 ever produced.

The one you thought/might be a 1066 is shown with a double stack magazine. It'll be kind a odd for the cops to take pics of ammunition, magazine and the gun if they didn't come together for the line up. Might be seen as planting evidence?
I commented S&W didn't make 10mm with a double stack. Sure the 10XX had single stack that had more than 9 rounds but they weren't double stack like shown in the pic. Not picking a fight just making an observation.
As for your collection good for you. Too expensive to start buying in now seeing how silly my 10mms would go for. Especially the 10XX magazines grazing a "C" note a pop. I did luck out a few years back at a gun shop where I asked if they had any S&W 10mm magazines. Dude came back out with 2 and said $50. The cash leapt out of my pocket so fast the bills looked like a blur. never knew I could move that fast. I'm sure they were free to him and I saved $50 for that transaction so everyone came out ahead. Love to pick up a 1026 complete upper for my 1076. And no I don't care for the 1006 slide with the "safety".0 -

I didn't think you were arguing. Honestly, I didn't even look at the mags. I saw the gun, then looked at the ammo in the box next to it to see what caliber it was. When I tried to zoom in, it just pixelated so couldn't really tell.
The original, early 10mm's are commanding a premium and just keep going up since they are still some of the best made. When I think they've hit a ceiling and will stay or drop, they go up again. I think that since the word of the round's potential has finally gotten out to the 'casual firearm fans', that it created more demand than guns. I was happy to see more gunmaker's release new 10mm, particularly SIG. I bought a Bren Ten SM circa 1991 and sold it ~1996. I made $400 and thought I did great. That same gun now goes for $4,500. The more rare models (SFL, SFD, M&P) go for way more. Speaking of 'casual firearm fans', I had a person argue with me first that the .40 S&W was stronger than the 10mm, and once I showed him the two cartridges for comparison, he said that they created the longer 10mm for slower powder afterwards for subsonic. We went back and forth a bit. I finally just asked him how many of each he had. He said he only had one .40. On the table in front of me at the range, I had 6 different 10mm's, one with a .40 S&W barrel. I finally just said I wasn't going to argue with him. He can get on the internet when he got home and see how truly wrong he is. :roll: :roll:
On your 1076, make sure you've had both recalls done to it. There should be two dots under the decocker and one dot on the bottom of the grips at the rear if it has had both done. If yours isn't the Police/FBI model, and you want it to work like those without the magazine safety, you can drift off the rear site, and the stuff underneath is what activates it (purposely not going into details here on GB forums).

I had my gun smith try and fix the de-cocker once when it crapped out but that "fix" didn't last. I sent it to S&W for the recall and they didn't punch the frame. Mine could been fbi with the 20 LPI checkering and not just the lines on the front strap like the one I sold. Also mine got the cool "Capable Of Firing With Magazine Removed" on the slide. The other one I had didn't have that on the slide but I had my gun smith take out the silly plastic bit out of the slide to do what mine can. Should've held on to that longer to make silly money but I sold her to my bro in Washington State. Dude got a good price of $425 with four mags. Sure she was a "civilian" model but if you didn't know... 0 -
