We?ve had two here already. One shot by police, one suicide (Divorce action, soon to be ex set him up/pushed him ?over the edge?). Just the beginning.
While I understand the sentiment, and there may be very rare occasions where it could be necessary. I?m seeing poorly written, feel good, overly broad laws, written in haste, authorizing LEO?s (and their supervisors) who are unfamiliar with the regulations making application for, and being granted, these orders. To be fair, I have also seen a few applications where nobody, anywhere, would disagree that getting to the one named on the order can?t happen fast enough.
No doubt many (not all) of these laws were crafted with good intentions, but one must always keep in mind the old adage about ?The road to hell being paved with those same good intentions.?0 -
