Stupid studies

Over in politics Barz posted an FBI study that I thought was wasteful as I thought the conclusions were obvious. This got me looking for more recent U.S.government studies that to me are questionable as to their value.

How long can shrimp run on a treadmill. $3 million
Significance of genital washing in S. African men. $800,000
Behavior of male prostitutes in Vietnam. $442,000
Effects of online dating. $239,000
How monkeys throw poop. $168,000
Drinking habits in bars on U.S. Mexico border. $333,000
Study youth behavior in dance clubs. $3 million
Can lions be trained to use a treadmill? $856,000

O.K. I get it. Knowledge is a good thing but why are my tax dollars being spent on this excrement? Bob

    if somebodies in the gov't are so inclined to waste money on completely pointless stuff like that, you can bet the ones doing the studies are their relatives and friends, and/or whoever commissioned the studies get kickbacks. =corruption

    Well if somebody were to ask you, can lions be trained to use a treadmill, how else would you know without the study? DUH! :D

    They should do a study on that to determine the exact number - and other pertinent facts.

    Most of that money actually goes to liberal universitys, in the form of "research grants, albeit it's for bull shirt studies. Job security you know for WAY overpaid professors that actually live on the tax payer dime :evil:
