    As a kid, I remember making book covers out of brown paper bags. Those covers wore like iron, and they saved my mother the 5 cent cost of a store-bought cover.

    And all channels played the Natl. Anthem when broadcasting resumed,,,,,,,,,

    Mine played the Anthem when programming was over and then the test screen. One channel on Saturday stayed on until 01:00 :|:lol:

    I'm proud to say that I'm Al's antithesis. You don't remember the bunnyhuggers years ago claiming a new ice age was coming if we all didn't shape up? I could go for a good snow storm right about now. I've been walking around in ball soup all summer. :shock: :lol:

    "Single use" plastic bags are banned at San Francisco stores. And they charge $.10 for each paper bag. One of the local markets has taken to stamping their plastic bags with "Not For Single Use". I like shopping there - ;)

    Milk, beer, soda pop all came in glass bottles. All were returnable and glass can washed and used again. When they couldn't be used anymore they were melted down to make more bottles. A lot of plastic bottles are in landfills and on the side of the road. Safer but wasteful. Bob

    I can remember when the phone rang- and you counted the rings to see if the call was for you- or one of the other families on the party line. Long distance required an operator and it was going to cost some serious money.

    And I remember when being a vegetarian was bad for you, and then they reversed that and said being a vegetarian what's good for you, and then they reverse at too.... And so on

    God gave us our teeth we have for a reason. You have to eat both your meat and vegetables, maybe someday scientists will quit trying to outguess God....

    The theories of scientists are just that, and only that, theories... it's just some people guessing what might be true. But it's only a guess
