My Grandpa passed away this morning.
He turned 93 this spring. He had dementia and it final took him. World war 2 vet. Lied about his age so he could join the Navy. Was on the USS Hovey when it was hit with a torpedo and a kamikaze in January 7th 1945. He was injured going over board and received a Purple Heart. Going up and after the war his family owned and operated a small saw mill in eastern Idaho. Grandpa was happiest in the woods. I told my family today that if Heaven has chainsaw it will be hotter than hell by morning. RIP Keith Bell you are missed.

Condolences on your loss and may your Grandfather RIP. I was closer to my Grandfather then my father and when we lost him a few years ago it was very tough. He made it to 100 but not 101. 0 -

I luckily am very close to my father as was he to his. I very much was close to my grandpa as well. I get thinking about him and the things we did together and I get tears in my eyes. I just found out his funeral will be Friday. I will be fishing Saturday in our favorite fishing hole hopefully with his rod and reel. I definitely will have his creel with me. I hope to hell I get his rod and reel. It is old and nothing fancy but it is his. I hope to put it to work at least one more time.0 -
...sounds like a great day to spend in his memory. 0 -
