Ohio shooters gun
It looks like he used an AR Pistol:
Anderson Lower and unknown upper. Appears to be a 10.5" barrel with a C-More style sight. He also has a 90 round drum mag.
I expect to see AR pistols and drum mags get some scrutiny in the future even though the shooter was a wack job that got kicked out of school for making a hit list.................

Yet again, the media/pols focus on the weapon rather than the idiot who used it. I suppose his background, hit/hate lists, political affiliation (Dem. Sanders, Pocohontas supporter.) and devil worshiping mean nothing.
Personally, I always found those drum mags to be too heavy/awkward/unreliable. Just my opinion...but they sure look good in a movie and on the so called news in cases such as this.0 -
ChrisS spot on they always focus on the gun and not the shooter especially if the shooter is not white. If the shooter white and a nazi or raycist they will focus on him like a laser.
I agree with the drum magazines. When they 1st came out we tested them I think they were called Beta C Mags. What a POC! Failures to feed problems with them falling out of the gun, plus they are heavy, awkward and what do you do with them when empty you have to have a special pouch for them..............no thanks, total hollywood deal.
You looking at the gun closer it looks like one of the PSA uppers they have had on sale a few times in the last year.0 -
I still have a 75 round drum mag for an AK. Loaded it up one time, took about forever, fired 'em all off, trying not to completely overheat the weapon, cleaned it, put it up, never used it again.
Those Beta mags and variants were/are crap, and, as noted above, heavy/awkward/unreliable. Damn difficult to use close in and heavy as hell. Tried some out in training with universal opinions that they never be issued.0 -

The shooters appear to be like democrat Kamikazes. Like the Japanese Kamikaze going out in a blaze of glory, taking one for the team, in order to advance their liberal cause. Believing this will put the country one step closer to repealing the 2nd Amendment and then onto gun confiscation. 0 -

The guy was under 21 yrs old, how could he have legally bought either the completed handgun or just the lower? Even a lower with buttstock attached is 4473'd as a receiver or "other" and since it can be configured as a handgun +21 applies, yes?
Part of OUR narrative should be the guy illegally bought the firearms, and/or illegally configured it, and used it as a rifle (recall the whole "from the shoulder" kerfuffle from ATF) firing from the shoulder. Whether ATF subsequently said it doesn't matter should be beside the point, in our messaging. I'm a bit tired trying to do the technically correct explanation when the other side, deliberately and for effect, misleads and gets away with it.
The mantra should be "he broke three or four laws to get and use this thing - why do you suppose one more would have stopped him?"0 -

An AR with a drum, short barrel, and a pistol brace? It's the gun control crowd's trifecta! In the very near future, I expect, at the minimum, that pistol braces receive the same ramrod treatment that bump stocks did not too long ago. That should, yet again, appease the "oh well" crowd here. :roll: 0 -

not discounting the fast and brave response of the LEO running into danger
there response time is greatly related to teh area its a well know party area lots of bars and breweries along with mom and pop shops
always been a popular place and always LEO patrolling the area even more so during holidays
with that said any LEO who puts down such a POS in similar circumstances should get at least 25% to 50 % cash reward of what it would have cost the taxpayers if he had lived in court , defense and upkeep in prison for the 30 or 40 years he would have lived0 -

That is a brace. Not a stock. Perfectly legal on a pistol. If he was under 21 he was not eligible to purchase A) a complete pistol. B.) a stripped lower either way it is against the law to kill people and against the law to do 15 other things he did. Passing one more law would keep him shaking in his boots and stop all this....

The whole liberal mindset makes me want to slap my forehead and say WTF. Banning pistol grips, flash suppressors, bayonet lugs and other cosmetics doesn't affect function much, if at all.
An atom bomb is an atom bomb weather it looks scary or looks like a 55-gallon drum.
And seriously, banning any hammer over 16 ounces isn't going to stop anybody from driving a nail, if they really want to drive that nail they will find a way.

I am thinking that Trump will cave to appease the left once again.
He has already stated that he does not think suppressors should be allowed (IIRC) and could easily see him doing an EO banning pistol braces.
I have an AR pistol because 1) I can and 2) Its fun. I personally never had a need for the bumpstock but others liked them so I had no problem with them being legal.
Anything (and I do mean anything) can be used in an illegal way by someone. If we follow the logic as they are trying to (and have) applied to firearms, then we should require everyone to drive Honda Civics or the like. Why does anyone need a Corvette or a Ferrari or the latest Mustang? Someone somewhere might speed so lets ban them just to be safe.0 -
