Power has been out -

For the last couple hours. Big T-storm rumbled through.

Figured this was a perfect time to disconnect my old TV sound system, Kenwood- 5 speakers plus a seperate powered subwoofer. (Has had issues for a while now.)

Got all the speakers disconnected, lines unstrung.

Got my new system hooked up, lines run. Fiber optic (Ivanky sheathed cable connect) installed. Various things re-configured. Waiting for the power to come back on, in order to enjoy my new TV sound system.

Anxious to hear it.


(Surprised it does not have an HDMI connect.) My TV does, the new sound system Samsung, does not. Surprised as the sound system, is more modern than my Vizio TV.

Anyway, it will (theoretically) be an upgrade over my old Kenwood system, 12-15 years old.

I am still looking to get it repaired. It was/is a State of the Art system.

    Power back on. New system sounds nice, compared to my old limping system. (Speakers cutting out.) Still, playing with adjustments and sound controls. It is getting better.

    Does not come even close to my old system, with all sparkplugs firing at full capacity.

    Need to get my old system fixed.

    For what I paid for this Samsung system, it will be a good stopgap system. No worries.

    Better than what I had for the last 8 months or so.

    My old system, Subwoofer alone, was 120w, 8 ohms seperate powered plug in.

    New subwoofer is 60w, 6 ohms. Not a seperate powered plug in. Runs through the main system.

    (120w total.) 60w Subwoofer and a 2 channel 30w each tweeter/woofer set up/sound bar.

    My old Kenwood system when everything was working correctly, would blow the doors off this system.

    All the more reason to get it repaired.



    New Sub-woofer, being about 1/5th size but about 1/2 the power, tends to walk when cranked. Will need to put some carpet stay in place under it. :D

    Old sub-woofer was about 20 lbs. 2' X 1 1/2' X 1 foot. New sub-woofer is about 8 lbs. 1' X 6" X 8".
