When President Truman fired General Mac Arthur, "Nobody is so good that they cannot be replaced." Society in general, "it's the only world we have so you have to make the best of it."

    Hots on the left
    Colds on the right
    Shit rolls downhill
    The boss is a prick
    Payday is on Friday

Always date women with hands smaller than yours

Once you pass 35 years of age, never get your ass over your head

Practice doesn't make perfect. Perfect practice makes perfect

Use your head for something other than a hat rack

Do as I say, not as I do!

Very proud of you son for going in the service, just don't ever volunteer for anything!

After my 2nd motorcycle accident as a teenager......I highly recommend you stick with 4 wheels for the remainder of your life!

Your mother thinks you should......fill in the blank, any blank!

You can watch TV after your chores and homework is done!

Go out back and cut me a willow branch so I can whip your ass!

My father wasn?t a talkative man. He never really sat me down and gave advice. He did, however, work his ass of. Made payments as promised. Swore 2 times that I ever heard. Set a great example.

He didn?t give me ?advice.? He gave me responsibility and reliability.

On my way to Basic Training...told me to keep my mouth shut, and to form up in the middle of the company. They usually don't mess with the guys in the middle. It was good advice..

Never let anyone abuse you if you can stop it.
Always try to land on your feet.
Money can't buy happiness but it can make misery a hell of a lot more tolerable.
If you can't afford to pay cash, you can't afford it.
Never get involved with a woman with more problems than you.

If you cannot pay cash wait till you can.
    Lookout for #1..yourself.
Be careful who you trust, even some cops are dirty.

work hard and learn as much as you can , always be early every day on the job , do not let anyone bully or try and screw you over fight if you have too
after 40 years of age your body starts going recovery and things you use to do will be slower and more difficult
no real advise on girls or drinking or personal matters I think figured I would figure it out as I went along in place of trying to tell me like I would have listened any way ( I think he been ther done that as a kid )
oh for the car guys he did not want me to buy anything but a ford ( first chevy him and my uncles did owned me thought I went crazy )

growing up I never heard my dad say any profanity or even close .
when I was 19 I started working construction ( union ) 1st day I got to work with my dad . it was night and day he said words and did things I did not even know he knew :o:o:o
we rode together on some jobs so I ask him WTH was that he said growing up he was taught never cuss or do lewd acts in front of women and kids
any man who did was punched to the ground by th eother men for disrespect , ( lot different times and values ) but he held to them
so I adjusted to his double life of quiet hard working dad and a man of many phrases and actions at work

Not so much when driving the 356, but when driving the 911

"Keep your foot on the gas in the corners dammit!"

For those of you unfamiliar with the behavior of a rear engined rear wheel drive car, if you do let your foot off the gas in the corner, and you are ummm.... "driving at speed" .... your tail end will try to come around and become your front end. Definitely not a good thing to have happen.

If you don't have time to do it right the first time, you damn sure don't have time to go back and do it again.

Don't use force, get a bigger hammer!

If you are going to demand someone's attention, have something of substance to say.

I've known a lot of people who could talk for hours without actually saying anything.

"trust everyone, but always ask to cut the cards"

"the only woman that won't give you up, is your Mother"

"We raised you not to be a good child, but to be a good person"
