I am shooting a new USPSA match- its just a level 1 club match but it is a new group I will be shooting with & they are supposed to be a great group to shoot with.
2 weeks ago I was shooting in Dallas and had an issue with the mount of my red dot- my gun smith cut the slide and mounted it properly and the gun is holding zero like I am cheating- I dont put much weight in standing still and punching paper- but the gun is hammering nails! Even better Ill be back in Dallas next week and get to shoot with my friends Wednesday night & have a chance to avenge my unfortunate loss of bragging rights from 2 weeks ago.
Most importantly for the first time ever Im taking my oldest son to WATCH ME SHOOT. I have of course taken him to the range and he knows the basics but tomorrow he gets to see me shoot a USPSA match.
I hope I get a new range buddy out of the day & of course I hope he wants to eventually get into the sport.
He?s excited to come but I know Im more excited that he will be there!

Overall really good day- that stages were really wet - I didnt know this range had a reputation for that, but the boy really enjoyed himself. He was taping targets and calling scores and the squad treated him great!
I claimed bragging rights over my friend I was shooting with for the day & finished middle of the pack out of 55 shooters- so still plenty to work on- overall a clean day, no misses, no procedurals. I think I was too conservative because I REALLY did not want to fall in front of my kid. So not my best showing but good experience for my son and good learning about moving in the mud.
