How often do you check your spare tire(s) pressure?

I have the compact style spare tire in both cars and I have never checked the air pressure. Something I need to do.

    I can log into Onstar and check the pressure in all 5 tires. :D

    Minimum once in the spring and once in the fall.

    Otherwise, whenever taking a trip when will be at least 100 miles from home.

    Been decades since had to use the spare tire but just like a firearm, better to have it and no need it than to need it and not have it.

    Also, for those built in tire pressure sensors on the newer vehicles, they are often very inaccurate!

    Better to use a Milton tire pressure gauge so know for sure.

    Hate to tell you, but last time I changed a flat tire is because the wife ran over a piece of steel lying on the interstate and put a 4" slice into the left rear tire that only had about 6,000 miles on it. Even a BIG air compressor would have been useless.

    That was on her vehicle, not mine if you re previous post.

    twice a year and it involves kicking it to make sure it has air in it.

    i carry a box with 12v air comp, 12v impact, tire plugs, valve cores, manual lug wrench, guage, etc etc, and a small trolley jack and a couple of pieces of 2x6 ....try to have everything i need for a usual flat tire scenario...........been a place or two that had almost zero traffic and NO cell phone signal

    Nope.

    In fact, the ONLY tires I've ever checked the date code on were those that came on my Toy Hauler/camper 'cause they are constructed differently than other tires. I did replace them when they were 9 years old per the date code. Discovered the tires were 2 years old when the unit was special factory ordered new.

    I had a company car 2010 Ford Fusion the spare had no air in it from the factory.

    Since this is Sunday and my wife was born a Catholic, I will make my confession. I have never even looked at my spare tire in the 08 Kia Sportage. It is supposed to be under the removable platform that has a very nice rubber mat on top of it in the back behind the rear seat. I have taken the mat out for cleaning many times though.

    Note to self; come Monday check spare tire in Kia.

    That reminds me I need to replace the foot pump I broke a while back I keep in the trunk and a new tube of rubber cement.

    I keep a plug kit with rubber cement in the glovebox, never know when it will come in handy for truck, or side by side, had one hole in the old 4 wheeler that had about 5 plugs in it, nasty looking thing but it would hold air, enough for the 4 wheeler anyway....... have used it many times on the truck and trailer when out in boonies

    Good luck, on even finding the spare on a Nissan Titian. First time I had a flat, on my first one. Had to dig out the owners manual, to find where the tire was, and how to access it. Luckily once I was able to lower it down, from it's secret hiding place, it had enough air in it. Checking air pressure, on Titan spares aint a walk in the park.

    He's not carrying a compressor to air up the flat tire he's carrying the compressor in case his spare is flat.

    He's not carrying a compressor to air up the flat tire he's carrying the compressor in case his spare is flat.

    thanks smitty, wasn't even gonna try to explain that to him.......

    I check oil & other stuff bout once every two (2) weeks or so ? check tires bout once a month or so ??? Just my habits ?
