I am restoring an old go cart that is chain drive.The engine clutch was missing but the drive sprocket and chain are still intact.How do I find what clutch I need to match the sprocket and chain?

  The size should be stamped in the link side straps if you can clean it up enough to see. If not, this link will walk you through how to measure the chain to determine the size.

  A vast majority of the older go carts and mini bikes used #35 chain. Some of the newer more powerful ones use #40 and some real heavy units use #50.

  in answer to the actual question, check for a clutch rated for your h.p. and shaft size, most sprockets should bolt up as they were pretty standard
  or just take the sprocket along and check bolt pattern before payin for the clutch
