    Used to hit Cades Cove several times a year, kids all grown up and park is way different than it was 30 plus years ago. Deer were unbelievable in numbers and size. The park rangers would close the gate about 6 PM and we would hit the short cut loop and round and around many times as you like. Don't know if you can still do that. We even have pictures of one of the gang laying on his back right under the fence where the deer would cross, yes they would jump over him and the fence.

    Bear tale.

    We were just past the old farm house rest area headed out. Several people were walking along the road ooh and ahhing the deer and bear. Bear charged through the crowd, just knew someone was about to get torn to shreds. Bear snatched up a small dear and hit the woods with lunch.
    That will wake you up for sure.

    They announced on the news last night, they can't fine the idiot, because they are not sure of his ID.
    The Momma bear should have enforced justice on the spot.

    I once had bear steaks cooked on wood planks..was just okay, not great.
    Maybe the Bear knew Human eaten on black top doesn't taste good either. :o

    They give the bear a ticket. They hate to do it because it's always a bear to get them to sign it. :D:D

    Yeah but the black bears always play the race card where they say things like how come the polar bears don't get written up and such.
