Coming to the end of the road for Mrs juju
Judy recovered from her bleeding incident and left the hospital last night. She is now resting at home.
Monday we got the news we had been dreading. The new spot her last scans discovered is in fact a mutated form of the cancer she has been treated for the past 8 years. Its very aggressive and they have no treatments for this other than mastectomy and radiation. Judy cannot go thru another mastectomy as she is to weak and it would probably kill her. The radiation is a stop gap that may or may not add a little time to her life.
We have known since her cancer came back that eventually it would be terminal. We just hoped it would be longer than this.
As aggressive as this new cancer is and in her weakened state best guess is 6 months tops. But we are hoping for longer.
Meeting with the Oncologist next week to discuss whether to stop the treatments on her original cancer since they are not going to prolong her life. I cant see any reason to put her thru the discomfort of those any more.
After 45 years together I am going to be lost without her. I have no idea what I am going to do.
She is and has been my whole life. Even though we never got a travel trailer I am going to try and get her to the Ocean and maybe the mountains one more time.
Please keep her in your prayers. I am hoping for a miracle..

Does she have peace with God through Jesus Christ? Crossing over to eternity is easier if you know where you are going.
I am praying for her, and for you to have strength during this difficult time.0 -

I'm so sorry.
I lost my wife about 3 years ago. We had plans to get an RV and see the country. But her life long disease got too much and the last week of life was in an hospital.
Well, after she was gone I decided to buy an Rv anyway. I stayed at a campground for a month, then had plans to go on "our" travels. But my legs got real bad, to the point I can barely walk now. So I stayed at this campground and enjoyed my new friends I made there. All good people.
If at all possible take her on your quest for her last visits to `where ever.
At this point, I Know that you and her standing in the surf of the ocean will do more for her than any chemo.
Get that RV, you have enuff in your Gofundme to buy something decent.
You will do okay after wards. Don't worry about life after, live life with her now.
Prayers to you and yours.

While I wouldn't normally recommend it, I looked at some websites in Calif.
What about RENTING a rv? Seems you can get a small unit for about $1500 a month with free mileage. It is small 13 foot. I'm sure you can find a renting Rv place with something bigger like a 19 footer for about $2500 a month.
Search around the internet in your area, they are ready to go, and you don't have to worry if something goes wrong while you travel.
Just a idea up the flag pole....0 -
There are no words that will lessen her pain or yours. Place your trust in God and pray ................... we will do the same. 0 -
Juju...
Miracles can and do happen - or else I would be dead at least a dozen times over.
That does not provide you with much solace as you would prefer your wife live and thrive rather than hear me complain about my troubles - having lived long enough to complain.
When I was diagnosed and started treatment I was more afraid of the cancer and of death than what the chemo and radiation would do to me - now it's a coin toss of treatment or hospice.
Most folk can never and should never be exposed to or understand what you are going through.
The overwhelming sense of fatigue and failure when they tell you cancer has returned is beyond profound - because you now know what tortures you face - and this is were many decide to die with dignity or choose hospice.
What ever course you choose you have my support and my prayers.
Make the decision yourselves - rather than yield to any doctors pressure.
And as difficult as it may be start writing letters or emails to be opened later - make a trip to the beauty salon one more time and take some pictures - visit some favorite people or places - etc...
I am Irish and our clan from county cork has a tradition of a last gathering and meal (and drink) before a person passes if possible - in addition to a normal Irish wake.
Small plans can help you retake control and provide a sense of direction and solace.
I wish I could provide any real relief or reprieve but I cannot.
I am certain you have made plans - just don't let the overwhelming acceleration of events carry you along - when possible steer your own vessel.

Prayers continue for Judy, you, and your family. Also, prayers said for wisdom and guidance for the doctors! 0 -
Juju- know that you are not alone. Even among your brothers here on the forum, some will have traveled that same road. My wife of 48 years is in home hospice care- the folks there have been angels. My bride has a condition that is not treatable or curable. We made the decision that it was time to let go. All I can do is keep her clean, fed, warm and comfortable.
It does not make your pain less- but you find ways to manage it. My prayers for the both of you- if you ever need to talk, send me an email.0 -
