Tensions with Iran remained high on Wednesday as mystery swirled around the whereabouts and status of an oil tanker in the Persian Gulf. CBS News senior national security correspondent David Martin says U.S. officials believe Iran has seized the small coastal tanker along with its crew of 25 people.

    I would think we would have eyes on that area 24/7 and would know the location of that ship.

    I seriously doubt there's anything "suspected" here at all. With today's technology I have little doubt the location, right down to the inch is well known. The Iranians are now circulating a rumor that they "helped" the tanker which was in "distress" and towed to Iranian waters. (Washington Post). Yeah, ok.

    thought i heard a report the tanker was towed into the Iranian Zagros moutains so there would be absolutely NO danger of it sinking ?????? soon all will be thanking them for this humanitarian gesture

    With US Navy Carrier Abe Lincoln in the neighborhood. Should not be a problem if we get the call from Panama.

    Wether or not a distress call was made seems to be the question.

    I'd bet, not the U.S. or Great Britain.
