the more I think about .45GAP...

I have my G23. I was always thinking those 14 rounds of .40 are better than 9 rounds of .45GAP in a G38.

but now I'm holding the G23 in my hand, looking at it, and 9 rounds of .45 in a pistol that small is pretty damn good.

then I picked up my G27. yup, 7 rounds of .45 in something that small is really damn good!

if it weren't for barrier penetration and decidedly higher mag capacity of the .40, I would jump on the .45GAP bandwagon in a second. it really was a good idea.

if you have a G23 or G27 go ahead and hold it in your hand to see what it's like to have 9 or 7 rounds of .45 on tap in a pistol that small, and I think you too would agree it was a good idea.

    I was issued a GAP pistol on the job. Excellent shooting pistol, I really liked it. However you can get a Glock 30s in .45 ACP with a 9 round magazine capacity, and it's dimensions are virtually identical to the Glock 23, with only a bit fatter in the frame. My issued 30s fits in all of my Glock 19 holsters because it has a similar slide. The G21SF and Glock 30 and 30s really undermined Glock's GAP, among other issues with ammunition availability and price.

    The GAP Glock version of Sony "Beta" tapes :D. If GAP could shoot ACP without a barrel swap they might've sold better. I know folks have shot .40S&W through 10mm automatics (I wouldn't) but it's nice to know it can be done while having a friend hold your beer and video it for youtube.

    It was odd seeing Glock following Kahr by going single stack. I don't like the side plate of the Kahr. It seems cheap or it was an after thought of how to make the gun run.

    The problem with your concept is the GAP to ACP is opposite to 10mm to .40. The reason GAP was invented was because it was shorter and allowed for use in the standard 9mm/.40 frame rather than the large same 10mm/.45 ACP, which as the time was a brick! So inorder for a GAP chambered pistol to shoot an ACP it would have to have a larger grip, which negated it's purpose in the first place. I have to shot GAP out of my Model 25 .45 ACP revolver.

    Have a Paraordnance C7/45. Having 7 rds of 45 ACP in a pistol THAT small that shoots THAT well puts a huge smile on my face.

    I bought a glock 45 gap. This year only because I found a deal on about 5 cases of ammo. I figure I can shoot the ammo and sell the gun with out much if any of a loss. If I really like the gun I will keep it. So far I have only ran one mag through it. I got a full sized G37. Time will tell

    When my PD switched to .45 ACP I ended up with several cases of GAP FMJ and Duty Ranger SXT of GAP just sitting in my ammo room. It's a shame it just sits there.

    Picked up a G37 PD trade-in for a great rice and it looked new. Was really impressed by the less felt recoil because of the 200 gr bullets. Pistol was super accurate and probably my only complaint was finding ammo. Bought dies and plenty of brass to solve that problem.

    The 45 ACP shoots bullets weight 30 grains more and the 40 shoots bullets around 30 grains more faster. Choice becomes a personal matter. I would go with whatever one feels most competent with.

    However, seems most LE types are going back to the 9mm leaving bargains on trade-ins for those interested in a cheap 40s and 45 GAPs.
