Im getting ready to send a 22 revolver back to Taurus to get worked on. When they ship back does it have to go to an FFL?

    They should be able to ship it back to you if you are sending it to them.

    It is really according to your local laws, best to check with the local authorities if you have any hesitation but in many or most states/cities you can ups/fedex directly to a repair facility and it will be sent right back to you
    Get taurus to email you a pick-up label, the cost for them is way less then you can ship it for, you will pay the freight both ways if they won't cover it under a warranty situation.
    USPS mail is of course off limits, only FFL's can mail guns.

    Cannot speak to your local laws. Under Federal law (18 USC922) you may ship a firearm to a FFL (dealer or mfgr) for repair, and have it returned to you directly. There is no transfer of ownership. The mfgr can even return to you a replacement firearm of like kind- directly. I send Savage my Model 110 under warranty. Savage cannot repair it- they can send me a brand new 110.

    Sounds like some of you have had bad luck with getting something fixed at Taurus, Why? I have taken it apart and know what parts I need, and could muddle through the fix I think. not sure where to find the right parts though. I doubt the parts would be more than shipping both ways.
    The transfer bar and its associated part are both broken . like a ball and socket, the socket is torn on its part and the ball is broken off the transfer bar.
    I use it for coyote hunting mainly to finish off if they need it or pack along while hiking, not sure I want to be without it for a year

    I sent a Taurus back 3 times and it was never repaired.So much for the lifetime warranty.

    Mine is an old inherited .38 special revolver heirloom that is out of time really out of timing, particularly when fired in D/A mode. It also is hit and miss whether it will fire at all. Generally after successive hits to the primer, it will eventually go off. But because it is a Brazilian model (I thought they were all from Brazil), they basically said they aren't doing anything with it. I am not really mad. But, I also won't buy anything with their name on it. As much as anything, it was more about HOW they handled it, more so than what they did (or in this case did not) do.

    Whether you have a Rossi or Taurus, Taurus service will not work on it unless it is stamped "BRAZTECH".
