good old fashioned business ethics
I had my oil changed at the dealership where I bought my used car. They urged me to get the brakes including new rotors done ASAP. Many miles later I took the car to a locally owned repair shop. I told the man, "If you would turn the rotors and use them on your car then please do that." When he called me with the price he said the rotors were ok.
When I picked up the car the invoice showed only kits/pads for all four wheels so I asked if he got the rotors turned. He said that the tech who did the initial inspection made a serious mistake, the front rotors were below minimum specifications and wobbling, so they replaced them. He would not let me pay for the parts saying, "I'm not gonna be one of those shops that quotes a price and then adds to it later."
He's got my business from now on.

Yep - he took a small loss compared to the return. Those types of business are great when you can find them. 0
