got a good crowd even in the slight rain, He started off good with a bit of a history lesson, and honoring the vets I think is a good touch, but that should have been the end of it, he is stretching it out trying to include women, with voting amendment, blacks with civil rights, just say " thanks for coming and folks have I hope you have a safe and great time the rest of this holiday "



figure the liberals will still give him hell for having a celebration while california is having earthquakes........

as per the choke me up thread, I think this may be more service specific, but when I hear the marine corps anthem that last line about heavens gates are guarded by united states marines gets me a bit.....


I'm sure they pick and chose the crowd pics, but I was suprised at all the younger folks in the crowd and they are actually smiling and waving/cheering to me this means more than any so called reporters editorial we will all hear/see tomorrow.......

    I enjoyed it all. I thought Trump was a little "stiff", not relaxed, what ever that could be about. True to prediction, ABC, NBC and CBS did not broadcast the tribute. Un-American in my view.

    It looked like they could have rehearsed it a little better - Well written speech but not as good a delivery by Trump for some reason. Just for grins I watched part of it on CNN. They were mighty disappointed when the president didn't mention himself or the 2020 campaign. This after being upset there were no tanks tearing up the streets and no missiles on parade to complain about. It was kind of like the Mueller report. A week of predicting doom and when it doesn't materialize make crap up to keep the Trump bashers happy. Bob

    Edit: I saw one short clip on the news of someone starting the flag on fire and then getting promptly hosed with a fire extinguisher. Not just the flag, he hosed the ahole holding it.

    His teleprompter speeches are usually not very good. But he had to stay on script, or else it would have turned into something about him. there were a couple times he had to wait on the teleprompter and then the ARMY Apache's came to early before he had a chance to introduce them. Overall it was a nicely done production. I think it's good for Americans to see some of the hardware our politicians purchase for our defenders.
