You've eaten enuff fish,,,,now you can learn how to fish....... :D

Go here and scroll down to the catalog section, and look at the ones listed.

If you place your pointer on a listed book , a small thumbnail will show on the right.

    Sorry....

    It's 1962. 48 pages. As a REPRINT goes for $15.00.

That link I posted is FULL of old info. Catalogs, manuals, parts lists.
They are the #1 place for old printed gun info.

keep asking if you need anything else, "I'll do the searching for you.

problem with these early remingtons is that there use to be a spring and fall issue. I never could figure out which is which, let alone year.

You got me on that one!!!

None match that catalog, there are some "holes" in Cornell's listing, especially like you say about spring and fall catalogs.
Could you tell what type of shotgun he is holding???

If it looks like the browning A5 {has the funny shape rear receiver}, it must be before
    1949.
    file.jpg
If it looks like a 870/11-48 with the more rounded curved receiver, it would be post 1950.
Sorry, will try some other places for info later.
    Bob

    ADDED INFO....
Cornell publishers are always looking for old books to reprint. Am email to them with a
pic of your catalog may give more info, if they have it in a reprint already. If they don't,
they may want your original. :D

its an artists rendition of an 870. close exam shows no bolt handle and a slide rod assy on the forearm.

one thing I learned about collecting lit', they never make it easy!

heres one that is a 1/2 size. no dates no nothing. but, there is a rem 58 shotgun on the cover.

That 1/2 size one is the "1959 Complete Sporting Arms catalog." {why the word complete is used ,I don't know} 1/2 size 16 pages {or so} $12.00 as a reprint.
The Cornell reprint is "enhanced" {their word} and has "1959" in the oval

now you see why these Remington cats' are mind boggling.
heres the spring 59. nothing like the 1/2 size cat. even if it was, it would say fall 59. you cant have a spring, fall and a 1/2 size covering the whole year. or could you? I hate Remington. lol.
