I didn?t let my son play HS football specifically because I didn?t want to risk him getting hurt doing something that wasn?t going to advance his career. Sure, he?d have learned a little teamwork. But that wouldn?t make up for a screwed up pair of knees...

Sports injuries are a big buck industry for the health profession.

That did not occur because sports are a 'safe' thing to do.

NO ONE should be pushed or persuaded to play school sports.

It is strictly a personal decision ~ like don't tell me what to do with my body (the pro-abortionists use that one).

The news media and schools pay homage to sports more than then any other endeavor.

What I learned from dealing with my son and sports.......

They want to quit playing at about the same time you NEED them to be occupied doing anything to keep them out of trouble. If she wants him to play and he doesn't want to....its not good to MAKE him play, but I'd tell him he has to fill that time with something else, band, a job, but he had to play unless that happened.

That?s good advice I?ll keep in my back pocket for a few years down the road.

Was opposite for me, I wish my folks had been interested and involved in my athletic endeavors in HS.
