Local Store, in Time Warp!
Bought 7 bricks, ( 70 boxes), of Copper Plated, Aguila, .22 Super Extra. For $ 2.00 a box +tax. Last time I was able to by a box of .22 ammo for $2.00. Was when, Bush Jr. was prez. And that was CCI blazer.
Getting the last laugh, at all the local hoarders. Who use to line up, at Wally World every morning at 6:30 AM. To suck up all the 22 ammo. Funny, I still run across them at the local flea markets. Trying to sell Remington Thunderbolts, @ $5.00 a box.

That was what I paid a while back. No tax but I had to add shipping because it was a GB auction. With shipping it was still less than .05/round. Never tried any before and bought 5 bricks. So far everything I've tried it in likes it. Seems to be as good if not better in some guns than Mini Mags. Bob 0 -

years ago i stocked up on Aguila super max hi velocity HP 30 grain 1750fps....then the older gent who had aguila died and a son or grandson?? took over and decided to jack the price way to the gringos...so US quit buying and it disappeared for some years ...finally i found some same in solid point and now the HP shows back up listed as 1700fps.......the old hp would really zap critters and armadillos.... i think i bought about 12K rounds then and still have most left as i cut back and used it just for annoyng critters....and it had a diff smell when fired 0 -

I had high hopes for it. But unfortunately, it isn't as hot as Mini-Mags. Some of my 22's, only function reliably with Mini-Mags or Rem. Golden bullets. I quit using Golden Bullets, when Trump got elected, ending the 22 famine.
The Aguila, Super Extra, Copper wash bullets are equivalent to CCI Tacticals, IMHO. Even so, I will keep on using them, as long as they are $2.09 a box. The local sporting goods store, is good enough to knock 10 cents off each box. When I show them my VA veterans card. Which I think is outstanding. And that, I appreciate.0 -

I first used, those old Super Maximum Aguila HP's. About 13 years ago. They weren't particularity accurate, but very hotly loaded. As you noted. What got me, is when they hit paper targets. The bullets would expand. And the hole in the paper, looked like it was made by a 38 Wadcutter. The new production Super Max HP's, aren't as hotly loaded. And won't expand on paper targets, like the old ones.0 -

I've got a couple of thousand Golden bullets that must be 15 years old. Don't work really well in anything and that's why I still have them. Maybe age will improve them like a fine wine. The 40 grain super extra I have are 1255 fps. That is comparable to mini mags at 1235 and for me function reliably in all my 22 semi autos - 4 handguns and several rifles. Maybe I just got lucky. I've cronoed a lot of 22 ammo over the years. 1255 would be the velocity from a 18" barre. Shooting it out of a 5" pistol barrel. Would knock app. 15% off the velocity. Figure 200+ FPS Actually most of the so called, "High Speed", .22 ammo, like the Super Extra Aguila's. Average about 1025 FPS from a 4" to 5" barrel.0
