No Permit Concealed Carry now law
Another step forward for gun rights and the 2nd Amendment.....effective today, July 1 2019
"Today, South Dakota?s Constitutional Carry law goes into effect. During the 2019 Legislative Session, Governor Kristi Noem signed Senate Bill 47 into law to protect the right of law-abiding individuals to carry a firearm for self-defense.
Senate Bill 47 removed the requirement to obtain a permit in order to lawfully carry a firearm for self-defense. This legislation gives South Dakotans the freedom to choose the best method of carrying for them. SB 47 also kept in place the current permitting system so that people who obtain a permit could still enjoy the reciprocity agreements that South Dakota has with other states."
Sad this law had to be passed to slap the firearm abolitionists down.

Take 1/2 day off work. Drive to the Regional DMV. Pay $150 for "Background Check." Get sent to the local UPS, for digital fingerprinting. (WTH?)
Pay another $50 for a CCW class designed (apparently) for Idiots. Spend 1/2 day there on a Sat/Sun. Spend another 1/3rd of a day, trying not to get shot by Idiots, in your class - who have never handled a weapon.
A couple months later, recieve your CCW.

I will agree it is somewhat insulting to have to sit through one of these classes and then the shooting also,and I will agree we shouldn't have to but for each one of us that does jump through the hoops to get a legal permit it is in my opinion one more raised middle finger to the liberals who made these stupid laws and thought it would keep people from getting permits if they made it a pain in the ass to get one... 0 -

Good luck with MD WT. it?s getting harder, not easier, to even renew here in the People?s Republic. In addition to my own, I have 15 others needing renewed every three years (even for work only in several cases) and I have to spend more and more time/justification with each one it seems. The MSP goes out of their way to deny even renewals, or so it seems. The HG renewals run about 14 pages. The Police Commission paperwork, including our in-house stuff, can run up to 26-yes 26-pages. 0 -

Well, it will be a little better on January 1st 2020 since the governor has signed the new House Bill 1264/Senate Bill 705 into law.
As of January 1, 2020, Tennessee House Bill 1264 /Senate Bill 705, will allow people to obtain their carry permit by just taking an online course.

Technically, you are throwing a wrench at the 2A. Does training guarantee accidents won't happen? That's not a bet I'd care to take, to be honest. Training isn't infallible, nor are people that take that training. There are still firearms everywhere, more so now than ever, and there are a lot more people out there that don't get shot accidentally than do. Owning a gun, and living in an armed society, comes with an extremely slim chance that you'll ever catch a bullet in any circumstance. That's a chance I don't mind taking.0 -

This is the same mentality that is ok with "minor" infringements, common sense gun reforms such as assault weapons bans, so long as they leave my hunting rifle alone crowd. There are already both criminal and civil repercussions in place to address those that are careless with their rights and violate other's rights with their behavior.
If you want common sense reforms require training and licensing prior to procreation. That would solve the rest of the problems up front.0 -
Here in Oklahoma 'Constitutional Carry' has passed back in Feb. and will go into effect Nov. 1st. It allows for both CC and open carry without additional training or permits. I am going to retain my CWP for reciprocity reasons mostly. But, it doesn't hurt too that we have 10 year permits available after the first one so it isn't too costly nor time consuming.
Like mentioned above, I do wish there was required training for firearms. I think it should be taught in school like it was for us. Many people fear what they don't understand and simply getting young people involved early is the difference. But, I understand the 2a 'it is a Constitutional right' logic too. I mean, look at all the things that Americans can do that is dangerous with out any training that is not a right. I think in terms of Carry, a lot of the legalities can be discussed that have nothing to do with the actual gun. I was appalled by the number of people in classes that thought after they got a CCW they could do things like shoot someone breaking into their car, or if they were trespassing, etc like it was a license to kill. OK. That's my opinion. So, flame away.0 -

Common sense crowd control. There is nothing in the constitution about that, but there is for guns within the 2nd amendment.0 -
While a lot of us would be fine not having to get a State Concealed Carry permit, there are a lot of people in this world that really really really should have some training before carrying concealed. I teach the Kentucky CCDW class and let me tell you when I have a person come into my class that has never shot a gun and had to borrow the gun they brought into my class, its a little scary. Under the new law here in Kentucky on July 1st if you can legally own the gun you can carry concealed, however a lot of those people will not know where and when they can carry concealed, or what the ramifications are if you use the gun to protect themselves or others. I suspect that in the near future we will see on the news where someone will be arrested for carrying concealed or using the gun were they should not of. 0 -

Just a reminder as it hasn't done much for the drivers in this nation. Every state requires a written and performance driving test yet 40,000 are kill annually on the streets and highways.
You cannot educate fools......they simply become 'licensed fools.'0
