This is a early late generation 37 Win. Note that curve is still there in buttstock and not cut straight like last few years. Forend stock has a taper instead of bullnose. Barrel should read "Full" and not "Choke". Hammer (cocking piece) should be tiny spur not large high spur. Pistol grip should be old style oval and not flared. And most important of all no Flying W Winchester Red Letters on belly of receiver.Not a Pre-war 37 Win. Believe it or not the box is worth almost as much as the 37 Winchester shown. 0 -
Thanks Ray for the examination. I considered that cocking piece was not right, along with a couple other things. Nice to know reading what a fellow knows and learn from it.
