can you pm me the link?
what year was the rem 870 introduced? that would help some.0 -
inside first page shows the 870, but the way its worded made me think it was later. tell me what this sounds like. remember, if its new, how can it be Americas most wanted shotgun? no one saw it yet. (follow me?)
"the 870 shotgun is new and different. it has special features found in no other gun. that's why it is (present tense) Americas most wanted pump shotgun."
was Americas....past tense
promises to be Americas....
will be Americas..............future tense
see how it was confusing?0 -
The 870 came out in 1949. Here is the manual for it.

ADDED INFO...
I looked into this 1949 vs 1950 thing and found this:
Seems Remington after making the 11-48 semi to replace their expensive to build semi-auto copy of the Browning A5, Had 2 engineers look to make a pump using the new pieces of the semi-auto.
This was in 1948.
In 1949, Remington sent out a lot of the new 870 pumps, but NOT to retail dealers.
They wanted feed back on the new 870.
The feedback was over welling great, with many, "wish lists". "make a 16 gauge",
" want it in a longer barrel for ducks, ect ect.
So in 1950 Remington released 16, that's right, 16 versions of the 870.
So, in reality the 870 had 2 birthdays.....1949 and 1950.
