Light was Absolutey Perfect last evening -
My back deck is on the second story level. The ground falls sharply away to the rear Mountain Pond. (Probably 4 stories below my back deck.) The amount of fish I was seeing, was shocking. Huge amounts of Bluegills. 350 stocked Rainbow and Brown Trout. (Spring fed pond.)
The pond is probably 1 1/2 - 2 acres. Shaded all around. Many overhanging trees. Most people who live along our road, do not know it is here.
Killer resource.
Sounds like the GA. swamp, or the Everglades, at nightfall. (Builfrogs and Peepers.)
Love it.

Getting same thing just now. Light is absolutely perfect.
Fish everywhere.
Mix of shade and sun. Can see them everywhere, from small to large Bluegill, to largish Trout. (Everywhere.) Loaded.
Love my place.

I can ship you a few water moccasins to make it a eco-friendly swamp/pond like we have down here, they will keep the fish in balance with the size of your pond

shhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh...or you will have late night "guests" i built several ponds around here and had one close to the road....finally drained it because of the late night people fishing......my helper watched one bozo from town set out 7 poles..he walked around behind him and picked them up and broke them in half and told the trespasser if he ever came back he would recieve the same.... it was to much trouble and all the fish i stocked it with went away so i drained it......lot of work wasted 0 -
You can't stockpile fish, Ken. There's only so much in that pond for them to eat, and they'll soon populate themselves into stunted starvation. Particularly the bluegill. The best thing you can do is to catch and keep as many mid-sized ones as possible. Release the genetically superior big breeders, though. 0 -
It certainly appears to be a killer resource!!!!! How often do you fish it?!! 0 -
A pond that size probably needs 300-400 fish a year taken out of it to stay healthy. The Tennessee DNR should have some goon information on that. 0 -
What the hell are you doing sitting on the deck, when there are bluegill and frog legs just below?
Probably out buying junk food.0
