Recoil glove suggestion.

I just bought a Ruger Redhawk in a 454 Cassul. Goodness!! That 454 is rough on my knuckles! I need a good pair of shooting gloves if I'm going to shoot this 454. I was looking at what Midway is selling and was unimpressed.

Anybody have personal experience with a top pair of shooting gloves???

    I had a shooting glove that I bought to test heavier .44 Special loads in a Charter Bulldog. (Which is brutal, I assure you. Also stupid.)

    It interfered with proper grip, worsened accuracy, and destroyed all sense of control with the gun. It was like trying to shoot wearing a boxing glove.

    yeh. tried it with the .357 derringer and that was my experience too. better without it. just have to deal with the recoil

    maybe they make a recoil softening grip for the Redhawk? Hogue or somebody?

    I never really had good luck with a glove. Maybe look at changing the grips. You can shoot 45 colt in it too for practice.

    I wore gloves when I was shooting in the Military and I like the Mechanix gloves. I cut the trigger finger out of them and they worked well.

    I used a weight lifters glove w/ no fingers and a padded palm when i Shot iron targets w/ a freedom Arms .454 casull... worked pretty good..Creedmore position with that gun was a bitch on the thigh....

    Yep... you don't need to shoot the 454 casull for target practice. Only for taking down brown bears

    I wear very light leather gloves that work fine for me. Went to buy another pair and can't find them any longer.

    I have a gel padded shooting glove that works very well when I'm shooting my S&W 340PD snubby .357 Mag that only weighs 11 1/2 ounces.

    I don't need it for any of my other guns including the 4" S&W 500 Mag nor my .50AE Desert Eagle. It's just that mule kicking little snubby .357 Mag that tears my hand up when I'm practicing with it that makes me want to wear a glove. It's the gun I carry most of the time but if I ever need to shoot it in a life threatening situation I doubt the recoil will be high on my list of concerns.

    .44 Magnum, 44 AMP, 50 AE, etc. calibers and don't need no stinking 'shootin' gloves.
    The average America is gettin' softer every day.
