I saw the Texas Tech/Arkansas game yesterday. It was a good game. Omaha is fortunate to have the Ameritrade Park and the CWS. It's a very nice ball park. Enjoy your trip.

I quit watching all pro ball of any kind many years ago. I gave up on NASCAR this year and now I'm quitting college sports also. College football is nothing more than farm teams for the hood rat pros. None of them will make a penny off of me ever again.

I have been to Omaha, I would suggest bust. They do have a fine zoo, and decent steaks.

Last night's game got rain delayed, 2nd game postponed. They were going to try for 3 games today.

I'm an hour east, and it's still raining, as I get ready to leave for work.

Check your game times, a d have fun!

Drove out of the rain on the way to work in Omaha. Hopefully all the games go off without a hitch today.

    Have a blast!

Will be tuning in to a game in about thirty minutes.

Well, it looks like Vandy and Michigan are the dominant teams.

If you like College baseball I highly recommend Omaha and the College World Series. We stayed downtown so we walked to the stadium and lots of really good restaurants and pubs. The weather was great for the five games we went to. Everyone in Omaha was very friendly, the zoo was very nice and as a bonus our kids came in so we got to enjoy all of this with them.
    We plan to go again!

Louisville almost pulled an upset on Vandy, Austin, as you would know. That was a wicked hop off the first base bag on what would have otherwise been an easy out. Then, Vandy had the luck of the Irish in the bottom of the inning with the hit to the corner to set up the win. The pitcher for the Cardinals did a great job!

The Michigan-Vanderbilt game should be great!

We had such a good time, and to top things of, during that particular game, we had three or four friends texting us from back home telling us they were seeing us on tv.

We started out with three of the eight teams in the fight and none of them made it to the finals.
Wifey grew up in Pensacola and started her college career at FSU, she finished up her undergrad in Starkville and then she got her Master here at UofL
The kids and I all have our undergrads from UofL. So we just had to go this year.

You are so right the Michigan Vandy series should be great.

I'll bet you did have a great time! I've never been, but I'm sure it would be a grand experience!

I was kind of hoping that the Red Raiders or the Bull Dogs would get in, but felt that they were outcalssed a bit by Vandy and Michigan. I have really enjyed watching the games this year on the tube, though. I remember years ago when the wife and I drove by Starkville and viewed the college campus from the highway...it looked to be a very nice setting. My second great grandfather and some of his cousins lived in that area back in the 1830s. Travelled through Lubbock a few times, and I swear, I don't see how they get time to play any sports without high winds howling throught there.

Michigan is probably the team to beat in the series that begins today, and since it's been a half century since the Big Ten has won a crown...that should be a huge incentive for them.

Vanderbilt pitcher can't handle the pressure in first inning and chokes as Michigan scores 2 runs.

Vandy pitcher still struggling with control in second inning with two on and no outs. Trailing by 4 after two.

Vanderbilt bounces back against Michigan to win games 2 & 3 and win the College World Series championship.

I thought they might be in the beginning, but I don't watch college baseball during the regular season, however, after seeing game one between them I had serious doubts about them winning. Even after they won game two, I wondered if they had the pitching depth to pull it off, but they had 14 strikeouts and power at the bat to answer that! Michigan had a great year...and might well be back as you mention.
