Seems that doing so these days, you either have a death wish or you have not kept up on all of the deaths and illnesses coming out of that place!

    Just read an article on that. Then again, is it really surprising that there've been 9 deaths in the last few years with over 3.5 million American tourists going there each year?

    Given all the deaths over the past year for no reason and the DR gov't refusing to allow a body to be returned to the U.S. before creamation or imbalming, not a chance in hell I'd ever go there.

    Frankly, no desire to ever go there anyway. :lol:

    I have been all over the Caribbean and I don't see the allure.

    Just a bunch of sorry ass people stuck on some beautiful islands and they don't appreciate what they have, you can have it as far as I am concerned.

    We have friends that love the Caribbean, and we go with them every couple of years.

    Went to Hawaii this spring instead, and while I am a big fan of not going to the Caribbean, I lose out in a 3 to 1 vote.

    Looks like St Maartin next spring.

    It will be fun. They are good people, and the point is us getting together.

    I agree. While not having been all over the Caribbean I have been to enough places to know that I do not like it. When I go on vacation I don?t want to be hold up on a resort and watch all of the poverty right out side of the gates.

    Sitting at a bar in Negril a newlywed comes up screaming "HE"S DEAD!!!"
    My gang looks at me. YEAH YEAH I'll go look.
    Passed out COLD in a puddle of alcohol puke- barely breathing - alcohol poisoning obviously.
    Off to the Jamaican Hospital. [Maybe better off dead LOL]
