Pheasant
Pheasant back in the day were all wild and just ate grain and such from the fields. How good would a pheasant that eats cat food taste? Pheasant runs cat off eventually. Fat cat would probably have a heart attack if it tried to get the bird.

What do you think cat food is? Nothing more than grains... 0 -
Last time I went pheasant hunting about 12 years ago, I shot 3 roosters that afternoon......all young roosters.
I took them home, cleaned them and when fried them up to eat like I had done for decades, they did not taste good at all.
I tossed them out.
I do believe the 'modified grain' and chemicals sprayed to kill weeds plus the fertilizer applied to get a bigger grain crop all had a huge impact on the taste.
I haven't and won't go pheasant hunting again.
Same is true for white tail deer hunting.......and especially not with the wasting disease they are infected with.
Wild game is nothing like it used to be in the 1950' and '60's :evil:0 -

Sad but true. They do add other things too. People I knew killed their rabbit feeding it cat food.
I don't know if pheasants eat grubs or other high protein bugs like chickens and humming birds do. If not, even trace amount of fat may mess with them.
I haven't had any wild game in probably 40 years. I think Q&D is onto something too, pesticides and chemicals and genetically modified plants, who knows anymore.
Found a great cat deterrent video

Nonsense, unless you are feeding your cat the very cheapest crap you can find. Cat food is higher in protein than dog food, cats are obligate carnivores, not omnivores like dogs, and good quality cat food contains meat and usually whey protein. The protein content is much too high for a rabbit.0 -
OK :
Way back in the day ( while in high school ?) : went to North Dakota (?) Pheasant hunting with my best friend and his dad and a few others :::

things are way diff than when i was younger here in sc kansas.....butterfies are gone, almost no box turtles left, bull snakes are scarce, few quail , pheasants are usual, crows moved their roosting further east ??, occassional humming bird, actually saw 3 young jack rabbits last week, little creek thru two of my propertys has dried up , have not had a beaver or muskrat for years...only runs a short after a big rain...lots of deer and bozo "guides..hunts" ....irrigated crops make a grocery store for them...used to see morning flights of geese 10 miles long out of the marsh north of us, maybe their paths have changed now ???...big wide machinery and chemicals have had a real impact .....32 row planter, 30-50' discs,.... i have at least a hundred firearms and do not give a hoot about hunting now....figure by the time my grankids are my age many of the large animals of the world will be extinct.....destroying their habitat....does not seem like this is "progress" 0 -
That "rooster" doesn't look like the ones we ever hunted  0
