Got to go fishin' with my Dad yesterday.

Haven't had the opportunity in too long but got to go yesterday. We were at Phillips Lake just outside Baker City with my brother in law and a couple of step brothers and the perch were practically throwin' themselves in the boat! Dad got the first and biggest, which only seems proper. I think we came off the lake with over 120 of the darn things, most in the 12-13 inch range, then spent an hour filleting them all out.
At almost 91 years old he's holdin' up pretty good but it's obvious that I don't have many more years with him. Gonna have to figure out a way to spend more time together. It's tough when we live 9 hours apart.

    Through my growing up years seems me and mine always wee butting heads about something or other . Fishing was the one area we always agreed on and could enjoy with each other . He has been gone since 1978. Sure do miss him

    now is the time to make the memories, things you will never forget and things he will absolutely love to do. It is tough finding the time to spend with elderly parents, but now is the only time you have, after something happens you will regret not taking that day off and going and doing something or putting off that extra day off to rest up for next week instead of going to visit, or fish, or take him to visit another older relative. enjoy while you can, now is the time to make the memories........

    I've been wearing one of my Dad's favorite flannel shirts, as an overshirt when it is cool in the morning, going to work lately.

    I look down, realize I have it on, an invariably say - "I Love You Dad. Miss You"

    My Mom is now 90. I get the same feeling when I see her. (Need to make more time there.)
