Ball games for kids teach sportsman ship and team playing
Yea, right!
A perfect example is how the parents at a baseball game got into a fight at a kids baseball game yesterday in Lakewood Colorado.
Fights at ball games is nothing new. It happens between players and spectators frequently.
There is not a chance it teaches the kids anything other than do whatever it takes to win regardless.
The parents have shown the kids by their unruly behavior how it's done.
I call B.S. on teaching "sportsmanship."

I haven't seen any fights at the kids ball games BUT I've seen some very "unsportsmanlike" behavior from the "coaches".
At one game, a "coach" for Grandson's team was attempting to be a big league coach. He was "sending signals" (basically flailing his hands/arms like bees were after him ) to kids who could barely hit a slow pitch right down the middle. After watching him signal two batters to "hold up"(not swing) at what turned out to be the only good opportunities they had, I whispered through the "foul fence" for him to quit pestering the boys and let them PLAY. He came unglued and charged the fence like a caged tiger but I didn't even flinch which made him even madder.0 -
Meanwhile- hundreds of thousands of youth sporting events went off without a hitch. 0 -
Another isolated incident. I've been to countless games, I never even saw an argument.
besides that, you can teach kids good sportsmanship when something like that happens
You just got to explain to the kids that those type of people make a good example of a bad example...
By using your reasoning, you would have to agree that you believe that guns do not belong in to law abiding citizens hands.... take a look at the case where the phrase going postal comes from. Patrick Sherrill, who never got into trouble before went nuts and shot up Ian Oklahoma post office and killed 14 people. Just because there's a couple of nutcase out there, itdoesn't mean we're all nut cases... and we know that's simply not the case. Just because an isolated incident happens doesn't mean everybody's the same way.
Now I know you don't believe that Firearms shouldn't be in law-abiding citizens hands, and if that's the case, you can't believe that just because of a an isolated incident like this, that Sports does not teach kids good sportsmanship0
