    Yeah if caught using that brace as a shoulder stock, then it turns the weapon into a Class 2 weapon, and you better have your tax stamp for it. But if you never get caught....

    last I read the BATF said they could not tell any one how to hold the firearm if you put it against your shoulder or held it with your wrist no way to dictate how you shoot your pistol . its been several + months but if I recall it was a just a wash shoot it how you want
    my son has registered SBR actually two if you did not pay attention to the "brace " you could not tell by the overall length.
    side note to me just another rule that needs to go away , but same with the new shotgun pistols company calles it a pistol so your not modifying a full size firearm into a pistol .

    with the latest nut using a suppressor I will guess the safe hearing act they have been pushing to legalize suppressors will be dead in the water now
    just like one crazy used a bump stock wipes out millions of honest good gun owners from having one plus millions of dollars lost by citizens and company's
    so why does one nut using a car or a knife cause a national ban on autos or knifes or baseball bats no one cares but any thing to chip away at gun owners is the battle cay

    There are plenty of well known youtube gun reviewers that shoulder AR pistol braces on a regular basis for public consumption. One would think, if the ATF had designs to be fundamental in their interpretation and enforcement of regulations that they would go after those high profile individuals first, in order to make an impression on the rest of the firearm consuming culture. My personal view is that the folks saying the ATF reversed their position are only reading what they want to out of the latest letter. What I read is that shouldering an AR pistol doesn't constitute a redesign of the product, however intentional mis-use of the product to skirt NFA rules could still be enforceable against the user, not the manufacturer of the brace. As a owner of many different styles of brace/stabilizer it would not surprise me to see them banned in the near future just like bump stocks. Especially if a criminal uses one in a high profile killing.

    And the sad part is they can do that. Aftermarket Firearm parts are not covered under the Second Amendment :( :x

    The ATF changed their minds on it 3X. Current ATF Lettered Opinion is it's OK to shoulder pistol braces.

    If you didn't confuse SBR with SMG, I'm confused?

    SBR=short barreled rifle
    SMG=submachinegun

    My opinion is, at some point the anti's will get braces outlawed just like they did the bump stock.

    I went ahead and legally SBR'ed (Tax Stamp) my 8.5" and 10.5" AR's.

    That's good to know, thank you for the information. BUT... if they flip flop on the rulings of it like a fish on dry land, I would hate to be the one that found out they flip-flopped again on my way go to the range and get in trouble for it when I thought it was okay

    So PCC -Pistol Caliber Carbine is now all the rage in USPSA and IDPA.

    It looks fun- but many people can almost outshoot the stages with them.

    I mention this because these ?pistols? ARE NOT USPSA legal. People show up with them all the time.

    You need to clarify... You mean an AR pistol (ie, arm brace and <16" barrel) is not legal for competition in a PCC stage, or in a pistol stage? Or both?

    Whereas of course the "rifle" version (16"+ barrel, 26"+oal, stock of whatever length) is of course OK for PCC matches...

    Both- You may not run a braced/pistol as a PCC nor in any pistol division

    From the USPSA rulebook:
    https://uspsa.org/viewer/pdf/2019_USPSA_Competition_Rules-v292819.pdf

    5.1.10
    Handguns with shoulder stocks and/or fore grips of any kind are prohibited.

    Then PCC apendix D:
    Must have stock attached and be capable of being fired from shoulder position
    ? Note: Sig Brace and any variant
    thereof is not allowed

    Hope that helps. -IF it is a pistol with a brace it is not legal and if it is a pistol with a foregrip of any kind its not legal.

    I remember last year the young guys at the local all ooohing and aahing over the "Macaroni" Micro Roni (had to google it). A doohickey to convert a Glock pistol in to a shoulderable thing. This just confuse me.
