A new 9mm on the market
Zev is a popular manufacturer of aftermarket Glock widgets, they make barrels, triggers, all that type of stuff.
They have now introduced their own 9mm pistol,
I really would like to get my hands on one, to look at or shoot. They are a modular pistol which has become fashionable. The gun has a 1911 grip angle, and I believe they accept glock slides and barrels but not sure which generation slides. It accepts 9mm Glock mags
Price is over $1600 and up to 2 grand- for me that kind of money this gun has some serious competition. You are into CZ Custom shop territory.
Oh- They of course have a former Glock pro shooter who is now shooting for Zev and setting USPSA world records in Carry Optics division.

it costs a lot, but from what I heard you're getting what you pay for with the modular frame. have to be a competition shooter to make it worth your while. 0 -
Like the John Wick editions I am sure they perform great, difficult for me to cough up $2K for a plastic pistol though. At that price point your getting into custom 1911 territory and collector guns. I'd prefer to spend that on an Ed Brown or other lightly used WC or NH. 0 -

I'm not a 9mm fan nor am I a competition pistol shooter but there are a few comments I'd like to pass along for your consideration. Price is over $1600 and up to 2 grand- for me that kind of money this gun has some serious competition. You are into CZ Custom shop territory.
We were paying $2,000 - $5,000 for a competition pistol 25 years ago with the top gunsmiths being 3 years backlogged on average. Dick Heinie at the time was back up 5 years. But the firearm was the 1911 and its derivatives, all steel when plastic was much maligned and not a consideration for a competition pistol.
Plastic parts for firearms are front end loaded for cost. Most of the cost occurs at the beginning of the design phase and perfecting the molds. The cost then spirals down swiftly. The advent of reasonably priced CNC mills and lathes along with far simpler programming, allows smaller businesses to enter the market to produce and compete with parts and prices. Go to SHOT Show and watch the parts guys in the lower level produce a Glock-type barrel in about 2-1/2 minutes.Like the John Wick editions I am sure they perform great...it costs a lot, but from what I heard you're getting what you pay for with the modular frame. have to be a competition shooter to make it worth your while.
The John Wick merchandise, like all the previous Star Wars merchandise and such, will always sell to the folks who get all excited about the ideas presented in the movies. They just HAVE to have them. :roll: Merchandising a movie is a HUGE business these days and has been for the last 30 years at least. They ride the wave of popularity. $2,000 is a lot of money for some of us. But there are others for whom it's a drop in the bucket, small change. Competitors get paid to shoot but more importantly they get paid to win. The rest simply want the firearm in question to have and show off.
Zev started off simply making a couple of parts but their popularity zoomed skyward until they amassed enough cash to buy the expertise to make a complete pistol. This is often the same trail taken in this industry nowadays.

if they could bump up the pressure from 21,500 to 35,000 that would be a 9mm GAP

I guess niche pistols are usually pretty spendy. Not a competition shooter, so I would spend a quarter of that on an H&K VP9. 0 -
I believe Glock's patent on the Gen 1-3 expired which has allow all these companies, including major brands (Mossberg for instance) to copy their pistols. 0
