High School Counselor Died

Just got word that my high school counselor died. I had not seen him since he showed up in jail for indecent exposure.

    I recall having to meet with the high school counselor once when in high school.
    Never knew exactly what her job was ........... but was a useless meeting IMO.
    Just another waste of taxpayer dollars to give someone a job.

    I met with a school "counselor" once.

    I was just graduating 8th grade and was being skipped passed freshman year of High school.
    She asked me what I want to do in life?
    I said I want to learn automotive electronics. This was in the year 1969.
    She said I was too smart to be a "grease monkey" working in a gas station.
    I said auto electronics is the wave of the future of cars. And cars will have more and more
    electronics instead of mechanical controls.
    She scoffed at that and said "you're foolish".

    When I graduated Brooklyn Automotive High School 3 years later, Chrysler announced
    ALL of their cars will have electronic ignition as standant equipment. :D

    I never met a High School Guidance Counselor that had any usefulness at all.
    A complete waste.
    My Son met with his when he was a Freshman or Sophomore. Counselor asked what he was planning for after high School, he responded he decided in 6th grade to go to Berklee College of Music.
    Counselor, said, there is no future in Music! You need to focus on something practical.
    What?
    Any way, he graduated at the top of his class from Berklee and is a PAID Music Therapist.
    Received multiple job offers immediately after taking his Board certification test. Never applied, never made a resume. He still can not believe he gets paid to play his guitar.......
    Counselor? I can't believe they still exist.

    Ran into a lot of different folk working in the jail. Most educational 34 months in my life.

    HS counselors are as useless as tits on a boar-hog.

    I think the job of a High School Counselor is as useless as the turn signal installers job at the BMW Auto Plant.
