Sand from Normandy

Just before Dad passed away in 2011 he gave me a little medicine bottle full of sand from Normandy. His letter carrier gave Dad the sand and had visited Normandy. I believe her Dad was killed there.


My lifelong friend Bill who served in Normandy passed away last year. We shot together at Bluetrail over in Ct. and in NY State. He helped me remodel my whole house. In February I poured the little bottle of sand at the base of his marker and saluted him. He is not gone and will live in my heart as long as it beats. Thousands of those who served on "D" day live on in the hearts of those who love them.


Greater love has no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends.

    The great generation is passing away and this being the 75 anniversary of D-Day,it will be the last big time mile marker for The People who lived,fought and supported the war against the Axis of Evil and still remeber it. Lest we forget. May God be with thee and all the souls who have passed.
