Truck and car drivers, take heed
There is going to be a TBR (truck bus radial) tire shortage this summer, P/LT (passenger light-truck) are hit right now. The American makers will slow production to increase profits creating artificial scarcities. Michelin is famous for doing it. We have had several thousand tires on order since January. The Chinese are not shipping because tariff applications go back 90 days, they can't ship not knowing costs. We Americans are going to be 20,000,000 tires short towards the end of summer unless the tariff issues with the Commies get sorted out then it is still at least 90 days until we receive them.
If you need tires, get them now before prices go up and shortages limit your options.
We get a lot of our TBR tires from Taiwan but the ports can't handle the extra load and it adds three weeks to a month for transit.
Do not forget rubber trees do not grow in Florida or California, they grow in the far east.

Good to know...
Got my Costco order in for the wifes SUV just in time.0 -
I don't buy china made tires.
And to add, I don't see a need to buy any tires for at least 5 years...barring a non-repairable road hazard.

+1
In fact I really try not to buy anything from china if I can help it.0 -
As far as I'm concerned good riddance with the Chinese tires. They're jumped and I hate seeing people that run them on the road, they create a danger to others just to save a couple of pennies 0 -
Tire manufacturers have been moving out of China for awhile...
We sold out and moved our industrial capacity overseas to save a penny and make more profit...
Even if we pick up stakes and leave now they have our technology and our know how and our research and will keep making the same tires...
Apple did the same with cell phones and now wahwey(sp) is making better and cheaper phones without having the start up and development and research cost...
They monkey copy everything and than under bid and outsell us...
And we go bankrupt with our tails between our legs and the American industrial heartland lines in ruins...
Nobody wants good products made to past anymore with a lifetime warranty - they want cheap and plenty and disposable...
Sigh.
