Garage sale find - Winchester 97 & Mak90

Found a garage sale with a table full of guns. 3 caught my eye, I snagged 2 of them.
1. $1000 - Colt Lightning. Slide action rifle - caliber 38 Colt (IIRC) finish looked decent - 70% to 80% condition. My Blue Book, from 2005, lists this as a $2000 to $3000 gun. Looking on GB - a few have sold in $1000 to $1500 range in the past 6 months. Passed on this one.
2. $300 - Winchester model 97. 12 gauge 30 inch take-down barrel, condition 50% to 60%. Serial # 78439X. If google is correct, looks to have been manufactured in March of 1927. Grabbed this one for a cowboy action gun. Looking at past sales on Gunbroker - $200 to $300 - for the condition is about right.
3. $350 - Norinco Mak90 - milled receiver 7.62x39 - dark brown thumbhole stock with Chinese sling. 5 digit serial number. 1 x 30rd mag 2 x 10rd mags. Grabbed this one for $300. 90% condition. Looking on GB's past sales - these have been selling in the $900 range. Probably to bidders in NY or CT where I think these are still able to be bought.
Guy also had a couple AR15's (Wyndham Optics Ready and a parts gun), a couple single shots, some misc handguns - $500 Ruger stainless security six.

AK's are high right now. I think the Mak 90 could sell for $600+ without much trouble.

Still kicking myself for not buying the MAK90 in California back in the '90s Clinton ban. I think it was about $500 with a "snail drum" and other magazines (I think dude tried to sell it because he didn't wanna deal with the registration). I wouldn't have registered it, so I wouldn't have shot it. I imagine I would've imitated "Gollum" sitting in the dark whispering "precious...

Around here, finding guns at a garage sale is pretty rare! I often ask about any for sale, even if there are none present on the tables.
Once in a while, my inquiry is fruitful. Then again, there are a lot of VERY worn out single shot cheaply made shotguns out there!! Owners think they increase in value the more beat up they are!0 -

I have a pristine (made in 1922,) Winchester 97'.
Professionally Hot Blued, by a Gunsmith. (Screws are excellent.) New Boyds Mahogany stock and foregrip. [Originals on hand.] (Destroyed "Collectors" value.) I really could care less. I prefer shooters, in excellent condition. It looks/performs as new.
I love it.
