United States won 13 to O over Thailand.
I think they were wrong with running up the score. After your up 4 or 5 points put in the second team.
Im very very competitive but i think it was/is wrong to just run up the score.
The US team looked like they were playing a bad college team.

I watched part of the game, what a wipe out.
I agree it would have been more sporting to hold off at 5-0 and run in the scrubs.0 -
Playing the second team would be fine, but you never ask an athlete to hold back during a tournament.

If any of these other countries had a chance they sure as hell run the score up on the American's. If I were the coach I would keep the first team in if they were up by 50 and continue to pound them into the ground. 0 -
How do you feel about them now... At least one also said she would not go to the White House if they won. My girls played soccer from the time they were 3 until college and grew up with some of these traitors as their sports heroes. They were both disgusted by the pre game behavior today and the poor sportsmanship shown by Coach Ellis and the players. When my girls were in middle school there was a mercy rule,I think it was 8 or 10 pts. But there also was a rule that if the refs had to invoke the mercy rule more than 3 times in the season you forfeited that game and the remainder of your games for the season. Win, but be good sports about it. 
And some may give me grief for being a hypocrite about this regarding the Ga Tech / Cumberland College Game (222-0) but there is the more to the story....
John Heisman was coach of both the Tech Baseball and Football Teams and when Cumberland beat us 22-0 in Baseball by illegally using a half dozen professional players then it was GAME ON...0 -

I see only one redeeming quality about soccer. It gets some of todays kids off their techno geek butts for a while for a little exercise. Otherwise it ranks somewhere behind golf as a spectator sport. I applaud the young ladies on the team for their stamina and skill but it is still hard to stay interested during a normal game that ends 1-0. Kinda like watching Nascar without the crashes would put me to sleep. Bob 0
